This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Christ, I know people are upset that he wants to leave, but he is still by far our best player on his day. People referring to his stats must have missed watching him play for us, given they have no comprehension of what he brings to the team beyond just goals and assists. He had a big hand in nearly every away victory last season and also won us 6/7 penalties, in addition to being the one player able to retain the ball when we break out from defence.

Really? Who created PVA's winning goal against ManU? And please don't tell me that anyone else on this team could have taken the ball, driven 3 MU defenders into the box in a panic to stop him, then laid it off back-heel to PVA. Granted, it was a fortunate outcome for the PVA shot, but without Zaha, we'd struggle to cross midfield with this anemic offense. Or how about Townsend's last goal against Bournemouth, when the Bournemouth defender tried to rugby tackle Zaha midfield, failed, and he took the ball all the way downfield into the box, drawing all the defenders again, and laid it off right at Townsend's feet for the goal? Again, anyone else on our squad that could ever do that? It's really hard to overstate how one dimensional we are. Zaha is our best scorer, dribbler, and passer. By far. It's not even close. I agree he seems in a bad mood at the moment. He's still our one top player on a team of mediocrity. I wish that wasn't the case, but it is.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle If an offer of £100m comes in ( which I truly doubt ) then I think Palace would sell. And one day we will have to face life without Zaha. If that's a worry, then the bigger one for me is this - do you trust the club to invest those funds effectively ? Because I don't.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle I am hoping that once Wilf has got his head around the fact that he will be with us for at least another 4 months he will start applying himself whole heartedly to the task ahead. After all,if he is determined to go surely he can see that he'd only be reducing his appeal to other clubs by producing sub-standard performances and displaying a poor mental attitude.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle If Wilf wants a move to a big club in January, he needs to play out of his skin until then. Otherwise, it'll just be more time-waster bids from Champions League wannabes. He needs to apply his best skills to achieve productive outcomes, game in, game out. s*** performances won't get him the right move (top sides won't take a sulker), nor will 'quite good' ones (we'll almost certainly be in a relegation scrap if he's not on it).
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

He likes being the big fish in a small pond and none of the top six wants to risk him not fitting in a different environment for the kinda money we want. He clearly didn't fit in at united, why would he now? He's a lazy trainer and late to sessions etc isn't he? Hazard can get away with it, I doubt Wilf could at a mega club. He's still the same guy. Works perfectly for us, really have my doubts he'd shine at a mega club. Pretty sure thats why no one is interested. £100m you take the money all day long. The major problem we have is we are completely inept in the transfer market.. How many below average players have we bought, or past it with injuries etc.. Respect to the owners for not over paying during the last window, but they came up with nothing. Totally inept. Shows a complete lack of understanding of how to conduct business at this level. I recon they're a bit stunned at how shocking they got it wrong in the last few windows they're beyond nervous about s***ting all the money on crap again. Our two biggest assets came from the academy... INVEST IN YOUTH... We have so many work horses that'll do us proud. Sort the academy and get a whole load of highly rated kids in, path straight to the first team as the squad is so thin. Chelsea but without the (until now) impossibilty of first team football surely means we could attract talent. Rant over. COYP
