He'll focus on his child's disability, which in fairness may have been a genuine consideration at the time, to see him through this. It's a pretty impenetrable defense if you're willing to go there, and it will start to look bad if the media keep on at him.

And to be honest for all the rights or wrongs of his personal approach our focus should be on positive news and steps to move forward at this difficult time. Increased PPE, developments with tests, vaccines, approaches for care homes, restarting sports, getting the ball rolling on life again. There's still a need for that ongoing discussion; this stuff is more of a political soap opera.

He’s going to do it because he’s confident he’ll still be in the crease come the end of it and get a round of applause from the majority of people who voted Conservative. Many simply don’t care anyway. In 4 years time it’ll be completely forgotten. Boris’s opposition can say what they like about being undermined. His support won’t care and their MP’s owe them.

To begin with I thought he’d have to go. But if there’s mitigating circumstances then you have to hear them, and we can’t wait for inquiries. The problem is DC wouldn’t communicate. He let the sanctimonious screeching and the press make their errors before he eventually decides to reveal he factors that even more people will realise the baying mob need to get back in their box, or their lockdown gardens on free moet (Sorry, money and beer and ice cream) they want to continue for the maximum length of time possible, no matter how many more deaths and prolonged hardship for a decade or 3 it causes than Covid. These tw@ts get to irritate you so much to the point they become even more ridiculous and easy to ignore. One of the few positives of lockdown, and this extension. A prolonged extension I do blame on Boris, Cummings and the govt, apart from Sunak. Bring the furlough end dates forward and see the change in public lockdown mood.
