We had time to spend the money sensibly this summer... the awb money was sitting there for weeks... did the scouting team have notes on players from the last 6 months that suit us and realitically could sign for us? It's not as if they sit their twiddling their thumbs waiting for money, then when they do get money think 'ok who shall we sign'. None of us assumed awb would have been sold... it threw a spanner in the works and parish couldn't have handled the pr nightmare of losing two star players in one hit.. but.. an organsied DOF could have realistically handled it so that replacements were lined up and the fans would have understood it would be a new chapter, new transition. No one is bigger than the club and look.... zaha couldn't even help us beat colchester.... the mentality at palace needs to change from top to bottom. Are you sure you want to go with that? I have a strong suspicion that the club is very comfortable with being out of the Mickey Mouse cup. Our squad is not deep enough for three competitions.

I agree, but if £100 mil came in then, actually it probably wouldn’t take that much, I’d be very surprised if Parish can stop it happening AND keep a cohesive squad and player who wanted to go and is worried he won’t get another shot. What if he doesn’t want to risk injury rather than stropping only? I’d love it if your way of thinking worked when people are at the club 5 days a week but it’s not as easy as it is for someone to just say he stays for another 9 or 21 months after what’s gone on and him handing in the transfer request, which is an important point since it could come to it that Zaha hands in another transfer request, PSG meet the price and that’s it, he’s off. Have we formally turned down his transfer request I haven't seen it. if we haven't he loses all loyalty bonuses and other final payments including his percentage of transfer fee. If PSG do bid £100 Million My guess is that he will go but possibly with an agreement for us to keep till January. The idea that the Americans will pocket money is unlikely. Their share value is based on the clubs perceived value an important part of that is the assets including players and money in bank. Reduce that share value goes down. They will look for buyers of their shares and then look for return on loans in all probability new shareholders may take over those loans (ie buy the debt) but it is also possible they may have to follow terms of original loan. I also think SP himself is a problem in any sales he wants to remain as chairman very few buyers if any will accept that. So I think if someone buys they will make a hostile bid for complete club and SP will probably be out voted and bought out

I would still think that our ambitions were to beat Colchester - albeit with a weaker team. That our second team is crap though should be of no surprise. Getting wheeled out for two games a season, I hardly blame them. I blame our lack of direction and purpose. We are making up the numbers and going nowhere. Eventually we will be relegated - whether or not this year or next - and we will have little to show for it. There has been the odd shock victory but no silverware. I say, why not compete for the League Cup? Surely, if it's such a Mickey mouse cup, then we would fit right in there.

We won't win it and we cannot afford tiredness or unnecessary injuries. We will certainly be relegated very soon if we don't spend a wad of money. We are currently going through a difficult phase with a big wage, aging players and big clubs being promoted to the PL. The answer is to spend wisely with money we generate from sales. AWB and eventual Zaha cash must be cleverly reinvested in the squad

Get rid. This. Haven't really been following the last few pages, but if it's true that 100m has been offered, we should bite their bloody hand off. We all (palace fans) think he's much better than he ACTUALLY is. His stats are okaaaay but not great for a prem forward player. And if we truly cared about him, we'd let him fulfil his potential elsewhere. 100m, I'll drive him there myself. I won't, cos I' m on the other side of the world. But you get me.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Without Zaha, we will absolutely be in the bottom 3 by January. Not only the goals he scores, but the goals he creates for others, there's no one on our team to replace that. A PL team relying solely on Ayew, Benteke, Wickham, and Andros to score goals? It's laughable. Ok, so would pay a huge fee to sign a striker in January? I seriously doubt it. And even if we were willing, who could we get who could single-handedly score enough goals in less than half a season to save us from relegation? I'm sorry, I just can't imagine getting someone that prolific in January. Let's face it, our roster has been mismanaged for years. Zaha has covered up the mess. When he's gone, the crap is going to hit the fan. Or is the plan to use the 150M once we're in the championship?

The difference is last season his attitude was good and he wanted to be here. This season, he simply doesn't. Jog him on. Band aids are always better ripped off. PS. You should refrain from words like 'absolutely'. Because it's not absolutely at all. It's your opinion. Perhaps a valid one, but an opinion none the less.

Get rid. I'd agree with this. OK, it's not Strictly and you can't expect everyone to be grinning all the time, but at least when we had Bolaise playing he smiled a lot and looked like he was enjoying playing, even when he got fouled. Zaha looks as if he'd rather be anywhere else. Also, as others have said, his stats aren't really that good. For all his skill and his hundreds of dribbles, a handful of assists and goals isn't that good. Often his final ball is woeful (although I do appreciate that the lack of players in the box doesn't help).

My god man. We are already crap and you want to sell our best player by a mile. What sort of logic is that? Zaha benefits himself by playing well. He was actually involved in our winning goal on Saturday. Did you spot that?
