He can't f*** off to the BBS because he's been banned from there for doing precisely this.

Obviously the Palace decision makers aren't going to disclose their hand to anyone outwith the people doing the deals so the idea that any of us knowing more than is in the papers is just bollocks.

There you are - more outrageous allegations which bear no resemblance to reality.

In any event what has this got to do with Benteke ?

See that Allardyce is looking for a front man.
What about Niasse and Ross Berkley for Benteke.?
We could then buy another forward like walcott, a keeper and Bobs your uncle top 10 team.

I have my reasons. There is a lot more I could say on HOL but I don't I can assure you.

In any event, this is NOT about me, the thread is about Benteke so let's keep to the topic and refrain from throwing in vignettes of personal criticisms.

Regards Benteke, we all know what he is capable of so it is infuriating when he is so below par. When his hold up play is poor, when he doesn't win headers etc etc he attracts criticism but I would think many supporters wouldn't wish to see him at 'Selhurst Park' in an opposition shirt.Maybe a change of club would benefit him - and us !

Maybe Jurgen Klopp thought this as well!

The hatred for Benteke is quite appalling. Last week we clearly missed his prescence against Swansea and this week, because we lost to the worst team in the division who have absolutely no star players and an appalling record against the mighty Palace, it's his fault.
They are better than us. They outplayed us. They do things we can only dream of. Wilshere was superb, but hey lets slag the striker. We created one real chance all night from open play, that's every player.
Credit the team, they battled like f*** and gave themselves a chance, but we weren't good enough.
Luka gave away possession, numerous times, like many did. Wilf lost the ball many times, like many did. RLC was anonymous for large chunks of the game and blew his two great moments (no one mentions his end product). Schlupp is a liability going forward, it's like he loses all coordination. I'm not wanting to blame anyone for losing to a team like Arsenal, but the team lost it, not one player.
Thing is on Sunday we will be even more negative and I wonder which player will be the scapegoat. Hmmmm let me think now?

Yes I agree. Criticism of individual performances last night should be shared around as more than Benteke was culpable.

In terms of Benteke's workrate, one wonders if he was just adhering to orders in not running around like a headless chicken, dropping off deep and not pressing so as to keep team shape and staying within the width of the penalty area when we were attacking.

Noooooo, shurely not?

This person has been conducting himself in this way here and down to about 2007 on the BBS under the username "Trolley" for nearly two decades now.

All I was doing was pointing out that he knows SFA insider knowledge about our transfer dealings.

However, Hodgson has now said that Wilf is going nowhere

Why are people tearing their hair out about bad performances last night?

Granted Benteke was ineffective but he was also not used to his strengths. Had we not blocked and tackled like f*** in our own area, had Speroni not made a number of saves, had Wilf not kept running and looking for the ball into the area, Arsenal clearly had the tools to demolish us completely and score a hatful. As it was we lost by a single goal to a team of class attackers with a squad value greater than ours probably by an order of mangnitude.

Nulle points but nothing to lose our s*** over.

Tautology is alive and well on HOL.

All 'Charges' have been answered and I have no need to enter into any tedious repetition.

One may persist with your agenda and I really won't dignify it with a response.
Turned it into a tedious WILLO thread - well done.

Given our recent resurgance, I believe supporters expected us to make a better 'Fist' of it against a side that could only recently draw away with Southampton and W.Ham and only narrowly defeated Newcastle at the 'Emirates'.Think a defeat by only a single goal flattered us.

I shall certainly be posting less frequently !
But NOT because of the reprehensible 'Baiting' - Those who know me will vouch for the fact that I am NO milquetoast and can fight my corner in robust fashion.

As for Benteke, maybe there are those who feel that Crouch or Carroll who are similar players would offer greater threat at this moment in time.

No-one baits you Willo as it's your posting style that gets people's backs up as you have been told innumerable times and I'm beginning to wonder if it might be the best thing for HOL if Admin banned you from Palace Talk just like the mods did on the BBS as you are the catalyst for far too much aggravation.

I am hoping that for the sake of forum peace you stick to your promise / threat to cease posting here on 1st January

The 2nd half was very even, if anything we perhaps slightly edged it. The first half was pretty dominant by an Arsenal side that had a front 3 that totalled almost 150 million (2 of those having been bought at the market prices of 3-4 years ago) and played particularly well.

Your constant negativity in terms of the predictions you make ahead of games and statements like ‘supporters expected us to make a better fist of it’ are very tiresome and mostly ill informed. Most supporters will realise that when we play a top six side, if they play to 90% of their potential we, along with the remaining 16 teams in the league are very unlikely to win.
