it is always said that long throws are hard to defend because of the different trajectory of the ball, obviously this was a well practiced move from them, the second goal was a copy of what they was doing to all the top teams last season.
think we should give wayne a break, he has not made a mistake since the end of the Watford game, he has a new coach and is going to grow in confidence

I can't disagree with you and this is not a big anti Wayne rant - he has donw a good job lately.
The most annoying thing about that throw in goal was that Sam said that they actually practised defending that very thing on the previous day and at Selhurst.

Yes blame can be apportioned to several players but my point is that a more vocal keeper would have been screaming at the others to mark up properly. I just feel that to really progress next season Sam should target bringing in a new keeper with the right character.

It's always said that a succesful team has to have a good spine - well hopefully we will have Sakho, Luca and Benteke but we need a top keeper to finish it off. Wayne would be an excellent number 2.

The other players are professionals, and should be able to remember what they were told to do. Blaming Hennessey for not shouting at them doesn't hold much for me.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

Luca was supposed to be marking Huth, but as one of your favourites, he is excused of any blame.

How do you know that Luca was supposed to be marking Huth?

Think we need to invest in a better keeper inb the Summer.
WH has improved last 2 months but more down to the defence in front of him he makes almost an error a game. Recently any errors are being cleared or sorted by the defence. Prior to that nearly every mistake he made unfortunatly seemed to cost us a goal. He has had a couple of great games this season byt far too many bad games for me. Ok for the bench but think we need better.

I was no fan of his but I'll admit that Wayne is certainly a changed man. he's had three consecutively good performances at Chelsea, Southampton and against the Gooners. After all the criticism Ive given him, I have to say well done.

He should've saved Vardy's strike on Saturday but I'm hoping this was just a minor set back.

Agreed 100%. I'm glad that we are able to come on here and support WH after his recent upturn without other posters jumping all over us saying we slated him for so long before. Most of us are fair people who just so happen to call a spade a spade.

I was one of Hennessey's biggest critics and justifiably so but I will readily admit that he has done nothing wrong in this recovery period under Sam and has had the fans backing so his confidence should be high however I still feel that we need to buy a quality keeper for next season.
Last Saturday Wayne had very little to do and didn't get any criticism but I would say that both of Leicester's goals were preventable.
The first goal was ridiculously bad marking but a strong character in goal would have been screaming at defenders to mark up properly as they had been trained to do. Stronger hands would have saved the 2nd goal but it was the first goal that really caused concern. A keeper has to dictate to his defence and command his area in every way and Wayne just doesn't appear to have this in him.

Dann is a bit of a shrinking violet too. It's notable that, in addition to his personal defensive prowess, the organisation that Sakho has brought to the defense has been invaluable. As you say, communication is the key, and the personnel involved prior to Sakho's arrival were all church mice.

Same thing up the pitch with Punch being made captain. Again, much more vocal than Dann - a player who will talk to other players (and they will listen).

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

I just have this impression that Wayne sort of falls in front of the ball rather than leaps toward it. He does not seem as agile as some other keepers. After all when has he ever been called Wayne the Cat? Actually does he have a nickname at all or have I missed that?

The only times he's been called a "cat" is ironically, or because of auto-correct.

How have you missed Calamity Wayne?

In my opinion, he wasn't at fault for either goal:

The second he could've done better, but I would point to Wilf not doing better with Mahrez and Schlupp for getting done by a pretty obvious chop.

The first is not his fault. The defence were a shambles, and I'm shocked that people have said they've been practising defending those, at it looked like it caught the defence off-guard. Complete mix up between Ward and Luka, who I would attribute the fault to.

That got to be about 5 or 6 long shots that have beaten Hennessy this season. Not concentrating enough. Although Hennessy done well. He does make a few errors. I would like him to stay but a our number 2. It will be interesting how he does with a defence of Kelly and Delaney. Sakho and a great gk should be top priority.
