Liverpool are insisting on £30m cash. No ifs, no buts. Our second offer of£27m + add ons firm rejected. Do we meet their valuation or look elsewhere?? Personally, feel we need to get the deal done as apparently, other sides looking on and may meet the asking price. If that were true we'd have lost out to someone else already. The reality is, any other club that wants him doesn't seem to be able to afford him and any club who has the money doesn't want him.

This would be the biggest and best signing ever. I want this to happen so badly. He would fit our style so well. But let's keep our feet on the ground for now. Liverpool paid 36 Million for him last summer.......... I think Ian Wright on a free from Greenwich would be seen as a better signing.

Liverpool have all the cards Not really. No sign of any one else having an interest in him and he obviously did himself no favours at Euros by having Fellaini preferred to him. A large investment they do not look utilizing but he's costing them 140k per week Looks like we are bidding against ourselves here

My understanding is that what they would like, but negotiations are ongoing, The Press semms to think this will get pushed through, and that Anna twitter woman suggested its a done deal, I did also read that image rights may be whats holding it up.

No way that Liverpool hold all the cards. SP will be getting inundated with agents touting world class talent for a fraction of the price. He could just walk away and then Liverpool find the next best bid is way below ours. Then they lose a massive ability to rebuild and are lumbered with an asset they don't want.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

You don't know SP is 'being inundated with calls from agents touting world class talent', you're guessing. We are Crystal Palace, not Chelsea. But you're almost there in how to negotiate well. You have to be prepared to walk away without doing a deal rather than needing to do a deal. But again, you do not know if there's anyone else we can get good enough or proven enough for SP to walk away. You're wrong in LFC losing a massive ability to rebuild. Reality is they lose the ability to sign 1 quality player, or possibly 2 who are not the cream of the crop. But if they don't sell Benteke it's £3mil+ wages every 6 months.
