Feel like the picture I've attached is another reason why Selhurst won't get the much needed overhaul. Alot of residents will be out in force to stop their neighbourhood becoming a building site. Even if we do get the backing of the council. It's a tricky situation. The football ground was there when they bought their houses and that was probably reflected in the price they paid.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Stadium plans' by bexleydave Sainsburies should sponsor the ground they are a south London company by origin. They could have a new shop in the development.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Stadium plans' by bexleydave Depends what we want. We already have a great local club in south london. The way football is going if we want to be top 10 we need to move to a purpose built 45000 stadium with the possibility to go to 60,000, with much better access than SP. The only sensible place for us locally would be CP park. The problem we have all round our area is the NIMBYs. Look at Chelsea (virtually no local opposition) and Tottenham (local opposition overcome). Their locals want new stadiums, and the owners have very deep pockets.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Stadium plans' by bexleydave As we all know the stadium is in need of some substantial upgrading. I for one cannot see how this could be achieved whilst still playing games in it.Perhaps it will be necessary to move elsewhere temporarily whilst the work is carried out but this has simply not been mentioned as a possibility. I also have concerns about traffic flow around a renovated 'Selhurst Park' with potentially more people attending (If we retain our top flight status !). Edited by Willo (13 Mar 2017 11.43am)

Edited by bexleydave (13 Mar 2017 12.46pm) Liverpool needed to upgrade a single stand with an extra tier.We need to upgrade the whole darned stadium. With a stand-by-stand approach whilst still playing there this could take darned ages, not forgetting all the inconvenience of having a stand out of action.Just doesn't seem that practical from the outside but I haven't seen any detailed plans nor been party to any discussions.

Name me a nearby stadium with more than 26,000 capacity minus 6,000 in the main stand? And then one where all us lazy feckers are going to fill it every week.
