nah f***it..

palace are looking i believe for extremely mobile players all over the park, a poorer mans arsenal if you will. Ive been watching the high lights in SA and considered the players Pardew have purchased, they all suit the quick pass and move approach....which is fantastic imo.

Seeing that Remy probably was his first choice, surely he'd want someone the likes of Zaha can play off...through balls, quick one twos....Austin doesn't give you any of that. his attributes are strength, heading and shooting...a modern Alan shearer. Though not in the same league.

I maybe wrong but i think Austin would rather play for us than we would want him.

I'm pretty sure you are about that.

Also by your logic there is no place for Glen in the side, which is obviously not the case as he was the main striker towards the tail end of last season.

Think this poster was correct, to an extent. Pardew seems to like powerful players. Glenn and, say, Souare are powerful in different ways. I think Pardew's just trying to get the right balance of pace and physical presence in the side.

By my logic, that puts strong, mobile forwards such as Remy, Slimani, Adrian Ramos, Joel Campbell at the top of the shopping list, but also allows room for poachers and target men such as Glenn and Austin to have an impact. Regardless, with pacy, skilful players like Yannick and Wilf in the side, i'm sure we should expect some great football next season.

85k a week?? no one will take him for that and he will end up staying at QPR, losing his England place.

There's a difference between having Glen and buying Glen though. If Murray played for Hull, Burnley or QPR, we probably wouldn't be looking at him unless we could get him proper cheap.

Now as short as 1/5 to join Newcastle. Ashley seems to be putting his hand in his pocket this summer. Pity he didn't when Pardew was there, or maybe not.

amazing what a serious flirtation with relegation will do to a man who sees the tv windfall coming in short order.

Apparently they're turned off by his wage demands. Coincidentally, his wages would be lower than what we are paying cabaye. The cabaye signing showed more intent and was high profile, but I can't help but think Austin would win us more matches

Crystal Palace midfielder Adlene Guedioura is the man QPR want to build their new-look side around.

The anchorman is out-of-favour at Palace where summer signing Yohan Cabaye, captain Mile Jedinak and Joe Ledley occupy the central midfield roles.

The Algerian spent last season on loan at Watford, helping them into the Premier League and Hoops boss Chris Ramsey believes he could help do the same for Rangers.

"He's good on the ball and he's another playmaker I think we need," said Ramsey as he prepares to step up his interest in the 29-year-old.

"If you have people like Jamie Mackie who likes to make runs, you do need people who can knock the ball about.

"We need to change the perception of where we were last season when we went directly early, and play a slightly more attractive game of football. We do need more quality players."

Leverage for a possible cash + player/s ??

What players of theirs would we possibly be interested in? If we are, then I think we need to be aiming a lot higher.
