I am not availed of any real military knowledge, but from a political and economic perspective, I don't see why Russia and China have any real reason to change the current situation. Whatever the military/political objectives were to taking Ukraine, rather surprisingly Russia and China have hit the financial jackpot , while watching the West self-destruct with 'sanctions'.

Stalingrad by Anthony Beevor is an excellent book if anybody's into that kind of a thing. Entertaining, you don't even realise it's an historical work.

A Russian teenager who had her place on a summer camp in Ireland cancelled due to the invasion of Ukraine has been awarded €1,500 for racial discrimination. Fantastic. Not all Russians should be discriminated against. I remember an interview by the Arsenal player Zinchencko basically saying all Russians should be excluded just becuase they are Russian.

It's usually the case that those who claim they are most against discrimination are usually the ones who do most of the discriminating. There is what people say and then there is what people do.
