We all do. I haven't seen any apologists, on this subject, anywhere. Either here or elsewhere. Other, I suppose, those who apologise for the way the likes of Yaxley-Lennon have made a terrible situation even worse.

This is the kind of rhetoric that would have been used by the people who have tried to ignore and cover up pakistani rape gangs.

Robinson wouldn't exist and tens of thousands of vulnerable girls wouldn't have been raped......we see where your loyalties lie. It sickens me that those who create the problem try to palm it off on those affected by it....move to high majority white low crime areas and then have the cheek to morally grandstand. Once again we have a comment from someone who believes that anyone who tries to see beyond the obvious, and looks for the underlying causes of a situation, is using rhetoric to ignore and cover up. No-one at all is doing that. I am quite sure that everyone, other than those involved in these horrible activities, wants to see them detected and stopped. Trying to understand what has led to them not being detected, or sufficiently prioritised, so that can be addressed, and further incidences avoided, is every bit as important as detecting and punishing past crimes. Playing the blame game, or seeking revenge, isn't going to help a single potential future victim.

Edited by Stirlingsays (06 Feb 2022 12.08pm) That's a very revealing comment! Although I somehow doubt the little gang of zealots here will realise it, let alone accept it. Blaming "people like me for importing the problem" indicates that not only is it thought that immigration is responsible, but that people like me are responsible for immigration, either all of it, or some particular part of it. Neither are true. Criminals, with values and morals at odds to our own, are responsible for the problem, combined with the breakdown of traditional British family life. Not immigrants, the vast majority of whom are hard-working folk determined to make a better life for themselves and become good citizens. The UK has accepted immigrants for centuries. Our country and culture, would be impoverished without them. That "people like me" had nothing to do with it ought to be obvious. I have no interest in the immigration of criminal elements to our country. I would be surprised if anyone has. You can question why the background checks performed before any visa is granted have failed so badly, and seek ways to improve them. That's fair criticism, especially as so many appeared to have evaded detection. You can question the radicalisation and indoctrination of the second generation. That's the primary reason I want to see us exercising greater control over religious activity, something I have been criticised for. We need less tolerance of extreme views, of all kinds, matched by greater support and acceptance of the vast majority of the peaceful, well-behaved, new citizens. Nor did Yaxley-Lennon have anything to do with it! He has though exploited the situation as a support for his wider anti-Muslim agenda. Along with managing to profit pretty well from the activity. I would have more sympathy for him if, instead of getting on his soap box of self-righteousness, he would have quietly taken any evidence he had to the police first. He didn't. Nor did he offer any of the substantial sums he raked in to the victims or their families. He lived the high life. Y-L is a fraud. In the same way, in different environments, as Alex Jones and Andrew Wakefield are frauds. All exploit people's fears and suspicions, via the internet, to enrich themselves. Maybe you didn't notice, but one of the instances identified in the report happened in Cornwall. Where I live doesn't stop my brain functioning. Indeed, I find it works better here in the beautiful, inspiring, countryside and coast, than in the rather tedious Fens.
