I think at first most of us and some still do; said 'ah it's just a bit of flu'. In his position he should have thought it but not said it, although speaking his mind is trump.

The point is he didn't know the difference between a virus, which can't be treated by antibiotics, and a bacterium.

Asked by a journalist about the level of testing for the coronavirus across the US, the president answered: “This is a very brilliant enemy. You know, it’s a brilliant enemy. They develop drugs like the antibiotics. You see it. Antibiotics used to solve every problem. Now one of the biggest problems the world has is the germ has gotten so brilliant that the antibiotic can’t keep up with it.

"So, supposing we hit the body with a tremendous - whether it's ultraviolet or just very powerful light," the president said, turning to Dr Deborah Birx, the White House coronavirus response co-ordinator, "and I think you said that hasn't been checked but you're going to test it.

"And then I said, supposing you brought the light inside of the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way. And I think you said you're going to test that too. Sounds interesting," the president continued.

"And then I see the disinfectant where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning?

"So it'd be interesting to check that."

Pointing to his head, Mr Trump went on: "I'm not a doctor. But I'm, like, a person that has a good you-know-what."

As sherlock Holmes said " once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains however improbable must be the answer" dont mock as detol isnt the only discinfectant and UV is a light source which can help immune systems. Funny how the smoking theory hasnt had much press but seems to have merit according to reports. Not fake news I beleive.

They claim to detest Trump because of his behaviour and past and then choose a candidate who comes with a proven background of lying and all sorts of allegations.

If they were actually serious about their grandstanding they would have choosen someone like Sanders or Booty-judge or any of the irritating women they had...except Chief sitting bull Warren.

But, as is often the case....all this stuff is fine....when they do it....suddenly the excuses.

Sanders would have been genuinely interesting, he doesn't have a questionable moral background on personal behaviour.

I think he had a greater chance.

Sanders couldn't capture the black vote and when the middle/liberals had to make their mind up in the primaries, they sadly chose Sleepy Joe.

Bernie would've at least put up a fight to Cheetos. Joe, on the other hand... we're all expecting the Big Bully will just tear into him and deflect everything - as is the Orange Way.

Even if Joe picks an able-bodied running mate, it's a slim chance the Democrats will win on their own merit.

The only hope we have over here is that between now and November Commander Bone Spur will continue digging pits for himself to plunge into (such as, yesterday's bleach/isopropyl alcohol fiasco)... and, pretty-please, SOME of the numb nuts that support the tw@t will at least begin asking themselves: is this man insane?

Many of us are hoping for an alternate outcome: that Cuomo delivered a good dose of NY-COVID to him when he traveled down to meet His Highness, in person, the other day...

Everytime I read the title of this thread I wince.

Google define bias as :-"inclination or prejudice for or against one person or group, especially in a way considered to be unfair".

Does anyone seriously believe, given all the experience we now have of this man, that being disgusted by Trump is unfair?

Being biased in favour of him makes more sense to me, as it is demonstrably unreasonable. You have only to visit some of the US Trump supporters websites to understand how skewed their outlook is.

Should the thread title be changed to reflect this?

Feel free to inject any disinfectant of your own choosing. If you can ask one of your relatives to let us know how that went that would be great. Good luck!

You seem like a sensible Democrat....which if that's true would make you quite politically lonely.

I think Trump being criticised for his recent airhead comments is fair enough. That said, lots of the criticism is written as though he was telling people to use these methods, which isn't accurate.

Still, I favour a Trump victory for quite a few reasons....not least a Biden presidency would mean higher taxes, sucking up to China and the Green new deal....all of which aren't directions I agree with anyway.....Trump's foreign and trade policy has been far better for the US than the weakness that Obama displayed....I remember his last trip to China where they disrespected him so much they didn't even get the red carpet out.....Plus that embarrassing hand to Iran, which they ignored while taking the millions Obama gave them for nothing more than delaying weapon programmes.

That allied to the fact that Trump annoys all the people I really dislike the idea of a Trump second term sits ok with me.

Trump is hated so much by the Democrats that him winning would be fun just if for nothing to watch those mentalists go ape.

And if Biden wins....well, that would still be fun....just in a kind of 'Reagan's last year but not with it' kind of way.

I'm not a surgeon but I'm sure there are medical disinfectants. Maybe there is an element of truth without being too literal.

No there isn't. Its ridiculous.

I fully accept that the liberal media don't like trump. Likewise the right wing largely support him. Ie follows the standard pattern everywhere.

However to have reached this number of pages with people still saying he is being given a hard time is defending the indefensible.

I mean come on! His comments are so frickin stupid that to ridicule him is akin to mocking the afflicted. It's like shooting fish in a barrel.

Im sorry your poster boy is a fool but it is misplaced to attack those who spot the emperor's new clothes for what they really are.

Hes not my poster boy at all but are you a surgeon or a scientist. I'm not but I'm sure that his comments hve been taken a bit too literally and laughed at a bit too quickly. A bit like hockney last week and that has truth in it. He who laughs last laughs loudest. We shall see what he actually meant in time. I can guarantee though that no trump hater will admit they're wrong and he was correct, but I will admit I believed there was an element of reality if it does turn out to be hocus pocus. A bigger man can admit they were wrong.

Did you watch it? He meant literally nothing, he was talking for the sake of talking. I assume the drugs had kicked in
