LOL

That hadn't occurred to me but good point.

Yup typical BBC bias, it's not newsworthy. Some minor business leaders back labour with a celeb thrown in.

So why not have an article about minor people in public service backing the Tories?

Neither the Tories or Labour will say how much they will cut migration by but only one parties dithering gets top billing on the BBC website - guess who - and to give you a clue it isn't Labour.
No left wing bias my arse!

Sorry Spiderman it's not news. What would be news is BBC appoints straight white male social conservative to senior post.

I read the article and could not see what the fuss is all about. It seems to me people are taking offence over an imaginary slur by misinterpreting what was said.

The complaint is that the guy is suggesting two well known athletes aren’t experts on sport, but that was never suggested. What was is that neither are experts on trans-gender issues. Which is true. They are sports people.

Interesting that he thinks 2 elite sportswomen have no right to talk about women's sport.

I've looked at his bio he is a journalist and has no expertise in women's sport so not sure what his point is. If they are unqualified to talk about it well so is he.

His complaint is quite clear. As they are both elite sportswomen I think they are qualified to talk about all aspects of women's elite sport. Whether you agree with their position is another matter. This is yet again an attempt to shut down people for their views.

I disagree. I think he was clearly suggesting that just because you are an ex sports person doesn’t mean you are qualified to talk about the very specific, and contentious, issues surrounding being trans gender.

They have taken the comment the wrong way. Being trans gender has nothing to do with sport. Where to allow trans gender athletes to compete is though a legitimate topic for them.

How does he know they are not qualified to talk about trans issues? They are both female, one openly gay, who have been involved in top level sport for, possibly, longer than this bloke has been alive. They have both seen the trans lobby try to infiltrate female sport, at first hand. His comments were patronising at best. The comments regarding Jamaican sprinters and Ethiopian runners were idiotic and imo borderline racist
