His son is autistic and depending on severity may only be comfortable with a very limited amount of people. I dont know if autism creates that as not been around it.
Autistic kids in general don't mix very well and his son would probably not have fared well with people that he didn't know

Cummings is a fascinating individual. If you go on his website and read his articles you get a sense of just how driven he is, his polymath status and particular interest in superpower politics. There is his contempt for bureaucratic centralized management systems (a large reason for his anti EU stance) and a contempt for the media and how politics is conducted in general....disliking most actual politicians. In some ways he views right or left as meaningless. He wants to take a hatchet to the institutions, which he regards as broken and if he gets his way and I have interpreted him correctly, it's going to be fascinating......It is no wonder the entire establishment...even many Tory MPs, want him gone. But he has some very loyal and powerful backers.
Yes, he is trying to play God and believes he is cleverer than everyone else in every walk of public life.

Already noticed a lessening in the shrillness today. Saw claims last night that one of Cummings kids might be autistic. Meaning that the issue of childcare, and more importantly who is suitable for that role, becomes a lot more nuanced than normal. Could be a lot of red-faces this morning. I noticed this as well could be the punch in the nose that the media need however people have already made their mind up about of him some of us just see him as a government advisor like any other. Others wrap their heads in tin foil and think he is the is the anti christ sent by the dark lord to destroy the world as we know it and make us their subjects. If his son is indeed autistic then I sympathize with him totally and any decent father would do the same thing. Autistic people tend not to do well in unfamiliar environments and when I say not well I mean it can be torture for them. But some people will not be compassionate enough to accept that no matter how much they claim to be compassionate because he has a different world view to theirs.

Labour MP appears on Sky and says Dominic Cummings could be partly responsible for the high infection rates in the North East. Is absurdity a Labour MP requirement at this point? [Tweet Link]

see my above post tin foil hats It's a good post, fully concur. At this point he might as well be Darth Vader.....the lefty activist types hate him with a passion....They have Trump and then he's like their UK 'hate' bit on the side...I think they would even push Johnson out of the bed to 'hate' pound on Cummings. He was fine before he travelled. Unless he could see into the future what stopped him looking after his child at home, autistic or not? I would suspect that thousands of parents of autistic children were in the same situation and didn't travel.

I certainly would have. I remember Willo did on here once it started....though I don't remember if it was on lockdown. Edited by Stirlingsays (25 May 2020 10.05am)

I keep seeing if only it was corbyn posts going on about how he was going to fund the NHS like his 6 months of funding would of saved the world. Cults of personalities are so dangerous how people can think that indecisive scruff would of been decisive at this very moment is beyond me.

Edited by Stirlingsays (25 May 2020 10.04am) I really don't think many people would have. They would have followed the rules. You may not agree with the rules but if you ignore all rules and act on instinct you have anarchy.

It's still quite hard to believable that Corbyn led the main opposition. If he had got in that really would have been a 'turn the lights out' situation. Still, his brother Piers is quite entertaining if a bit nuts.
