This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Yes I noticed that. But was it lack of pace or lack of effort/desire? Load of midfielders but where's the leader, the fight? I noticed in the build up to Sheffield’s goal - Townsend was left for dead. He had no turn of pace -as an earlier poster highlighted! Was quite alarming to tell the truth.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Definite Lack Townsend seemed to be carrying an injury - or something was on his mind . He jus didn’t seem to have any pace to go past or leave the opposition. He seemed to be trying to keep up with the player during the build up but was going no where fast.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Hopefully we can stay in touch until Jan, sell Wilf and improve the squad to give us a fighting chance. The depressing thing is after seven years and the high possibility of relegation we have not moved the club forward one bit

The depressing thing is after seven years and the high possibility of relegation we have not moved the club forward one bit There’s lots of people here who’ve already concluded we sell Wilf, he doesn’t care or can’t e bothered yet he could still play a blinder or 80-90% of his best vs Villa, then you’ll all be posting about keeping him for the whole season. It’s just too early to know yet, but Wilf will be made aware that bad performances won’t be helping him as well as us.

Blimey! So he played just as badly down the park on Saturday as he did on Sunday against Sheff Utd!

Ok you got the day wrong, but that is precisely why a top club aren't going to pay £80m. He cant perform to a high level every game, maybe one in three, in a good season.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle It’s not just Wilf’s poor performance and application last Sunday, it’s also the effect this whole sorry saga has on the other players and the ‘team’ in general. As much as he’s been one of the best and certainly most exciting players I’ve ever seen in a Palace shirt, I personally would not be sorry to see him go now. Cash in, buy a couple of decent players and put this chapter behind us. I don’t subscribe to the view that we won’t win without him and will get relegated, because unless his attitude and performances improve dramatically we might well get relegated with him! Especially if his presence is unsettling the rest of the squad.

Especially if his presence is unsettling the rest of the squad. I agree with you. I had many a debate with Hrolf over this, only we’ve got to this with a highest bid of £52 mil and not the region of £60-70 mil I thought it might start to develop at. However, it’s early doors this season and Zaha could be excused with rustiness and we’re perennially shyte as well anyway. Therefore I can’t really throw the kitchen at Zaha until after a couple more games. Villa at home is starting to look less appetising than it did. I think the points and mentality is going to be the reverse of what I was hoping for. At least our lot are used to it I suppose, and a big reason why Zaha wants out. The more shyte I hear I then start to see his view a bit more. Extending Benteke’s contract ffs!
