Grew up in a manor house, never done a proper days work. Took wages for over a decade from New Labour despite being opposed to them. Everything about him is carefully choreographed spin from his scruffy suits to his beard. The sincerity is clearly false, it’s a means to an end so he and momentum can feed each other’s egos. Another terrible result for Labour. If you are worried about the working mans rights, get rid of him, then there may be a chance of getting an effective opposition.

And yet he leads the most popular political party in this country, and the biggest one in Europe. Funny isn't it? Voted in by the party membership, which is a tiny fraction of the number who actually vote Labour. Lots of my older family vote Labour for historically politically tribal reasons, none of them support CND, Communists, Hamas ete. They are sleep walking into lots of different types of ruin for the country.....but that's just my view. Edited by Stirlingsays (05 May 2018 10.34am)

Why do you reckon so many people are 'sleepwalking? Could I venture that it's because beyond grand ideological concerns and conceptions of civic identity, most people in this country just want decent schools, decent hospitals, an affordable house and less crime?

In those famous working class enclaves Kensington, Wandsworth and Westminster. Seems like he's just profited from the absolute collapse of UKIP. He's good at getting votes from people with extreme political views (kindred spirits?). He will never win the centre ground, and never win a general election. Worryingly, momentum don't even care.

Could I venture that it's because beyond grand ideological concerns and conceptions of civic identity, most people in this country just want decent schools, decent hospitals, an affordable house and less crime? Well, lets be frank. Most people vote out of sheer self interest. The working class (which I count myself as) want as much advantage as they can get.....naturally. This makes them no different to any other class. Hence they are susceptible to being promised these advantages.....Essentially Labour politicians are the same as Tory politicians insomuch as they lie about what is possible (a flaw with the democratic process) I wouldn't call them stupid because I honestly don't believe that....they just aren't that intellectually involved in the process because politics for most of them is boring.....that's why it's mostly the people with real money/property to lose or with nothing to lose that take politics really seriously. A lot of Labour's activism comes from people who want to tear down and replace the whole system. I think they are seriously misguided. It's not that I don't think they are morally right about certain issues, it's just that....like Jesus probably never said, 'they know not what they do'. The lunatics may know they don't like the asylum....but that doesn't mean that they can actually run it. Edited by Stirlingsays (05 May 2018 11.06am)

You need to look up the difference between 'majority' and 'large chunk'.
