This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle I was there with my boy, just got back to my sisters in Newark where we are making a weekend of it. Wilf was very poor, first half just totally disinterested. It wasn’t a case of we didn’t get the ball to him, we couldn’t! He trotted across the front line but we might as well have played with ten men in the first half. He wasn’t interested in making a run or showing for the ball and apart from one decent lively run he just slowed the play down, got in the way or ran down a blind alley. Yes he was marked by two or three of their players on a number of occasions but that was because he was just ponderous and failed to make the incisive cutting runs to open up their defence. Most of the time he received the ball standing still and our attack came to a halt , as they got numbers back around him and inevitably won the ball back. Second half Wilf was better and showed more purpose but by then we had so little of the ball that it made no difference whatsoever. At the end he had the cheek to come over to us in the away end and pat the badge on his shirt and pump his fist. Just a pity he showed none of that passion or desire during the game.

Personally, I think that is the only good news on a very bad day. Shows his heart is still with us.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle He will have to play well to attract the big boys - he's not going to have any choice. Everyone can see that we are going to struggle to score. Everyone, except for Freedman and Parish; not sure what Roy's input is either. We do know he asked for a right back. Plenty of others got one but we couldn't. Even posters on this site demonstrated several free agent Right Backs or cheap ones we could have got. We don't even deserve to be considered a professional premier League side. We are still having a jolly all these years later.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle On my way back from the match, hard to single out Wilf having a bad game we are far to slow getting the ball forward and give the oppo all the time they require to nullify him.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle I suppose it’s an easy option to blame Zaha’s poor performance today on the fact that he’s unsettled.

I suppose it’s an easy option to blame Zaha’s poor performance today on the fact that he’s unsettled. It was reported Sakho held a clear the air meeting in the week with the players. It is becoming clear that Zaha is now a problem, doesn't want to be here, he made that clear. His actions seem to have unsettled the team, how will Roy and Parish deal with it.

His performance today was questionable to say the least but Townsend and Zaha both ridiculed the suggestion of the team meeting on social media. I think that Sakho's had his moments in the background in the past as well.

The only positive may be that Hodgson can make changes next week and no one can cry.
