Kudos. At least he didn't feel the need to wear a balaclava. It is not like the SAS were after him; they probably handed him the weapon and took the photo.

There might be a short term improvement for the many, but unfortunately, in the mid to long term, the living standards of everyone would fall with Corbyn's left wing policies. Such policies have always failed wherever they have been tried and always will. We need less government and let free markets help to enrich everyone. To be honest, you said that a Corbyn led Labour would disintegrate and their vote would collapse (I paraphrase) so forgive me if I don't take what you say too seriously.

The Tories cannot get out of the situation they have got themselves into whatever they do. The price for getting the DUP on board will be loads of cash for Northern Ireland. If it is not given to Scotland as well the new Scots Tory MPs will be up in arms (especially as they are social liberals who want nothing to do with the anti gay, anti abortion DUP). The Tories whole case for the last 7 years has been that we must cut public expenditure. If they start lashing out just to keep the Orangemen happy they will destroy what little credibility they have left. In any case the DUP will not go along with Tory cuts to pensions, NHS, police etc, so what can be the basis of any agreement between them other than they don't want Corbyn in No.10?

free markets - the markets have never been free in modern times. A right wing term to have ago at so called planed economies but all economies are planned. It is all about who reaps the benefits from the economy.

Did I? can't remember, but most people thought that. Clearly he did a lot better than expected. But May's campaign was so, so bad that a Labour party led by a more moderate leadership would surely have won.

Maybe it will after a few years of leadership. Inflation, higher interest rates, loss of home owner votes, temporary young votes. I spoke to a young voter who admitted he was bribed but said who wouldn't? There is the argument they're out of the job market in education and facing a tough job market through Brexit so why not again. My words, not his.

So called free markets rarely help everyone as they are never perfect and open to manipulation by the owners of assets and rent seeking. Reducing inequality and following new Keynesian fiscal policy is a far more appropriate way of managing a modern economy. Such policies have often succeeded with multiple examples from post GFC and from developed social economies around the world. It is this government's economics that has failed.

Since ‘so called free market’ forces, as you call them - price, profit and loss, supply and demand – will no longer direct the action of people in a socialist Britain, they will have to be directed by another hand – that of the state, applied in detail by commissions, committees, officials, rules, orders and regulations. Everywhere where this approach has been attempted, it has failed.
