I’d be inclined to sound out Roy for a two-year contract extension.

His experience and wisdom are unrivalled. What is more, his enthusiasm is undimmed.

The young’ uns and newbies will get their chances, but we need to have 40 points on the board first.

And there’s always the F A Cup.

(Incidentally, good to hear his appreciation for the support of the fans. We all like to be appreciated.)

there is alot of anti Roy comments and yes we need a new manager but not yet so 2 years more no , always said Roy needs to go at end of season no matter what , but who would be best choice i do like what Gary O'niel is doing at wolves , Thomas Franks could be looking for a job , cooper for me is a no , potter wont come to us , Dont want a dutch manager , so choices are limited

If SP believes Roy can keep us up then he will hold out until the end of the season when Southgate is nailed on to join us.

Yes, I have had a sneaking suspicion for a while that Southgate would be Parish's dream date. With the win against Brentford Roy has kept himself in a job until the end of the season, when he says that's it for him. The stars are perfectly aligned...

Nightmare scenario.

As others have said, does anyone really believe Roy cares a toss about the reports of him being ‘under pressure’. I’m sure he is, perhaps now for the first time looking forward to the season-end and retirement - from front line management at least. As he himself stated yesterday, to suggest his replacement is being lined up is disrespectful.
There is no doubt IMO that he will remain in post until the summer and be given the departure he richly deserves, hopefully from all true Palace supporters, no doubt the club, and perhaps even the media.
As to his ultimate successor, we’re he to become available (which I very much doubt), Tomas Frank would, again IMO, be a great asset to CPFC. He is a top coach, and a decent human being. Huge respect to see him congratulate Oli after the game yesterday. Otherwise perhaps Potter or Tommy Cooper...he may just bring some magic... ‘just like that’. A shame Nunes not now available!

Meantime Roy will guide us comfortably to safety.. just,

Bournemouth and Wolves are now moving fast towards top ten. Ranked 1st and 3rd in last six games, their style of play and management is clearly working .
The two youngest managers in the Premier., Gary Oneill and Iraola (very different backgrounds) but both grown up with modern methods.
The world we are in now is very different to last century or even last decade.
I bet these guys are regulars on FIFA electronic game etc.
Their mindset will be different and their results are proving that what they are doing is working.
We either move with the times or we will continue down our current path.
We probably could have secured either of these guys.
Im sure we are not even thinking along these lines. If we want to join the ride, we need to get on the right track. AI is a stone throw away. Things are changing. Time to embrace it.

Perhaps we could download Roy's consciousness into a robot.

Got inside info on this ?

Otherwise it's not '' nailed on '' it's pure speculation on your part.

Oh God no!
Southgate and Hodgson = two peas from the same pod.
Both have a negative, defensive mindset.

We need a progressive manager (not Cooper or Potter) who can bring out the best of our existing squad and nurture the youngsters. Whoever does arrive will surely spot our greatest weakness - the lack of a creative midfielder Our passing and ball control is below standard. Rectify that and Palace will begin to be a threat to the top six.

Today papered over the cracks. We should be beating the bees with their form.
Let’s see after Arsenal, sheff u, Brighton and Chelsea.
I would expect at least 4 points from those games.

Indeed, Brentford were poor, as expected. Any manager worth their salt would’ve achieved a result against them, at home, with our resources. To think that all is well off the back of yesterday’s result is just blind faith.

It will be dire football, painful to watch and with little to get excited about. Replace Roy whilst we have a healthy head start over the three bottom clubs and get the new man in.

Yes I agree. I find the elation at a win over an out of form injury stricken team, a little misplaced. I'm relieved we won but the problem remains.

As soon as we face a decent team it'll be more of the same old.

As for those posters who question the loyalty of anyone critical of Roy or indeed call them trolls, I say the same accusation could be levelled back at them because they want us to continue with the same brand of ugly negative football.

One can be elated, and relieved, at a much needed victory without concluding that all is 'Rosy in the garden' and a corner has been turned.

We will face much greater challenges this season and I suspect there will be more wailing and lamentation on HOL !
