Zero excuse. What it doesn’t do, though, is make what was allegedly done to him any less important. It certainly makes his character and claims vulnerable to further scrutiny (this was already being talked about on the fringes of the media a couple of days ago) and that is also a good thing. It’s certainly brought some much needed balance to the whole debacle Does the picture, if genuine, not suggest that if he was called a P*** he accepted as banter from friends/teammates?

It still isn't a professional or sensible thing to be doing....still I know these guys would spend loads of time together and we know that some guys go in for 'insult' banter. While stupid and in my opinion insulting, if it was exchanged lad insults it's a mountain out of a molehill that needs dealing with in-house But in today's 'no context, believe all victim' climate it's career destroying. If true other posters views would be interesting. Edited by Spiderman (18 Nov 2021 7.26pm)

Certainly. I can't help but think that if this was all true that someone would have said something. I mean I'm on the dissentient right and I personally wouldn't have put up with that around me....Aside from being out of order it's incredibly unprofessional. I suspect things are being turned up to eleven and that plenty suspect it but are scared to say it. I think you may be on to something here. I wouldn't either and nor would, I suspect, most, if not all, of those who post here. We though aren't Asian, and it seems they were, and apparently still are, expected to just accept it as part of the culture. Which is why Rafiq's testimony was so powerful and needs to be listened to. He blames himself, just as much as anyone else, but places most of the blame on the culture. The same culture that permits racist language on building sites as being just "banter". He knows he ought to have complained before and is ashamed he didn't. He knows his colleagues are good people at heart who were just immersed in the culture as much as he was. That culture has changed in many environments but, apparently, not yet in cricket. Which is why he has now spoken out. Not because he wants to hang people out to dry, or receive a pay day. He wants to change the culture. A culture he was as much a part of as anyone else, but one which affected him, and those from a similar background, much, much, more than others. He just had to pretend it didn't.

Waffle alert. Tell you what, start up a new Palace forum....I can guarantee you'd have a new peaceful experience, free from me. Maybe all your Trump friends would join you and you could continue educating them. You'd like that. So that's a pretty good reason on its own not to, but there is an even bigger one. I don't want to. I have plenty of opportunities to exchange views with my Trump supporting friends, and am as big a thorn in their sides as I am in yours. Although not alone here in sticking thorns in your balloons, I take pleasure in doing so. I also learn things. Knowing how the extreme right are thinking is important to me, and you are a valuable source of information, providing links to people I have not previously encountered.

What a weirdo....and I thought I was narcissistic. Rest assured when it comes to who could bore who off the platform you win hands down. I certainly wouldn't remain on this platform for the pleasure of p1ssing you off. Weirdo away if you like, it's of no import to me.

If genuine surely makes him a hypocrite as has he not stated the term affected his mental health?

Of course. In the same way you have to find out who's singing a rap song before knowing if you're offended or not.

That day her local hospital called her up, begging for more as they were empty- follow the money mate, follow the money! So we're the masks preventing infections and deaths?
