This isn't about Labour in 1979 at all, it is the unwinding of the dysfunctional Thatcherite model, driven by credit, consumption and property prices. She viewed railways with horror they needed investment. For her it was class, assets as it is now, not productivity, hard work and enterprise, high quality work places. That poster, 'The UK isn't working' is more appropriate now after 12 years of tory misrule, than it ever was. Britain, post-brexit, is a failure, until we face it it will only get worse.
