BLM did NOT start "taking the knee". Colin Kaepernick did. That's the historical start and the players are merely supporting the tide of opinion that swept around the world. It wasn't George Floyd's history that created this movement. It was the way he died. People were outraged and sufficiently motivated to do something about it. That people like you don't get that is regrettable but kind of predictable. They may not have started it but were happy to adopt it. Taking the knee at BLM meetings, Police being ordered to take the knee at BLM demonstrations, so isn’t it obvious why it is seen as a symbol of BLM.

What I do not understand, is that when you have something that is clearly divisive you don’t just knock it on the head and do something that keeps everyone happy. I am beginning to think that the mainstream media love the fact it is divisive as it gives them more edge in their coverage. They are the scourge of this planet whatever their political perspective, because let’s face it, everything now seems to have some sort of political connotation.

Hopefully after tonight that might happen. The usual types will claim a precedent has been set whereas normal people will call it sensible. They certainly knew this was coming. Adrian Durham was at Millwall because he knew it would happen there. It also happened at at least 4 other grounds but better not report that for the moment. Best to use only Millwall as it’s likely to convince people it was for racist reasons. Rinse one angle out of it before getting more or the real ones when they have to report more clubs are objecting to it after they got away with keeping quiet about the 4 others. I'm complaining on behalf of Mother Brown. I'm offended. It's an affront to my identity. She is being systematically erased from memory.

One would politely suggest that racism in the first place is far more divisive than an anti-racist gesture lasting a few seconds before a football match.

We could all make gestures to each other for a few seconds. Some won’t be acceptable and cause reactions you didn’t want, or did you? You learn that at secondary school. Funny that they’re describing tonight as a show of solidarity then isn’t it, in comparison to players spread all over the pitch for a few seconds. And if it’s just a few seconds to you, why are you bothered over it rather than a longer lasting display of solidarity?

You apply race as a charactistic of who you employ....you make jokes about old white males (yet if the colour were reversed you wouldn't do it). Still happy to play your Stormzy 'I'm not anti white, I'm just pro black' records aren't you. The guy who pays for black scholarships when the white working class are the least likely to attend university. You talk about racism but you are happy to support the forms you agree with. When I attended Palace matches I never heard any racist abuse anyway. This is about the diversity industry and middle class liberals virtue signaling. Edited by Stirlingsays (08 Dec 2020 2.49pm)

I just can’t keep explaining the same thing over and over again, it’s utterly wearisome. You obviously are never going to change your point of view so it’s a pointless dialogue. Let’s see what happens over the next couple of weeks and don’t forget to send your letter of disgust off to Les Ferdinand explaining how racist he is.

Edited by Stirlingsays (08 Dec 2020 2.49pm) It's about footballers making an anti-racism gesture before games and it being booed. Believe I'm a hypocrite all you want, even though what you have said is a huge twisting of fact, but there's only one side on this coming out badly.
