Like many older supporters here, I have so far fully backed Roy Hodgson but this season the embarrassing number of records being broken, only one shot on target, number of goals scored, and more, have pushed me too far. After 40 years-plus as a season ticket holder, I have not renewed. The pandemic is not Steve Parrish’s fault but my own circumstances have sadly brought matters to a head. The shockingly bad deal for ST holders - pay in full but only see some games and get rebated as the seson progresses is not for me. And to be shifted about the ground for games do not suit my individual circumstances. Age and ill health also play their part in my own decision but I won’t be making the (sometimes difficult) trip to Selhurst Park but will watch as many streamed matches as I can. The sight of Roy grinning inanely after the disgraceful Brighton result emphasised how alienated he seems to be from the loyal support. Another terrible performance at Craven Cottage later today seriously makes me wonder whether I’ll even bother to watch Palace at all while Roy is at the helm.

Apropos, Hodgson's reaction after the Brighton debacle I think for quite a few supporters this was a seminal and pivotal moment in their support for Hodgson. It is ebbing away by the day. A defeat on the back of yet another negative performance against Fulham and I suspect many supporters might adopt your stance in relation to not watching the team whilst Hodgson is at the helm. We've all seen worse and largely forgotten about it. Managers come and go, we won't remember much about Hodgson in ten year's time.

I very much suspect that if he secures PL survival once again this season and then retires, he will be remembered as the manager who kept us in the PL without much support in the transfer market. In this scenario he will always receive a warm welcome at Selhurst Park.

Roy's style of football is driving us all round the bend but what is even more concerning is the effect its having on youngsters to either start supporting us or continue to support us? My two kids are fed up to the back teeth with it and declined the offer of me spending £15 to watch us today. I'm sure I'm not the only parent seeing the decline in enthusiasm from their off spring...but it will only be me watching it today in my house. Just waiting for the time when he’s gone. He doesn’t deserve the players we have. I hate his football. *hoping this means we win now.

Would be happy to let him see out the season and keep Palace in the top half as long as results don't dip. However, by far away the most frustrating part of his tenure has been his refusal to give youth players a chance unless his hand has been forced. Nya Kirby could be a first team regular by now for crying out loud, everyone knows he has the ability. AWB is now at Manchester United but only got his break at Palace because of an injury crisis. Tyrick Mitchel doesn't look out of place in the Premier League and he's only there cos of PVA's injury. Every time a youth player has stepped in they have looked comfortable yet Roy doesn't play them unless his 30 year old favourite is unavailable. The one thing I will say about that is, though, he has been signing younger players this summer like Eze and Ferguson. It makes me wonder if he's starting to put the pieces in place for whoever replaces him, if he decides to call time next summer. Edited by inflikted (24 Oct 2020 3.32pm)

Pleased we won. Really not happy with our set up still. You cant tell me we couldnt have been more progessive and took the game to Fulham and still won. He can only play one way. However this why theyll never doing anything about Roy he will scrape us through the season. Fair play to him I just aspire for more from palace. Its a tough watch with Roy.
