Meanwhile we have sold AWB for £45m up front and paid out £2.5m for the awful Ayew. What is going on at Palace? Does anybody have any idea at all about how to run a football club? Bournemouth have a billionaire owner in their back pocket. Our American owners are selling and won’t put any money in. The board are scrambling to maximise value for money. Who can blame them? I still think 4 more players will come in by Friday (striker, Samarosa Cahill and a RB ) Am I a crazy optimist? Fraid so. Could I be totally wrong? Of course. If no more come in, or only one, frankly - welcome to the championship! )

Two days to go, and our current (possible) marquee signing is a 33 year old centre back that hasn’t played for about 6 months ... We still have not addressed our striker situation, have not got a right back in and still hold onto this stupid notion of leaving it all to the last minute in the transfer window. We just seem to have zero transfer strategy. We seem to now have zero money (the 50 odd million we got seems to be being invested in other areas, like unpaid transfer bills) Our billionaire investors seem to want out and Parish for all the incredible outstanding work he has done seems obsessed with the new stand (that work still hasn’t started on !!) and (based on what I have seen) is a bit of a micro manager. Roy seems to decent a chap to walk like other managers have. It’s all just so frustrating. I think this is the season it all catches up with us. Sorry for the doom and gloom .. but there just doesn’t seem to be any forward planning long term in team building management. If Zaha goes in Jan, then that will be that. All that we can hope is the likes of the newly promoted clubs don’t adapt quickly to Premier League football, and that the likes of Newcastle and Southampton have a stinker of a season. Because this season doesn’t feel it’s in our own hands already.

Even Newcastle spent a lot in the past six months (the guy from MLS in January for aprox 25, 40 for Joeliton, 18 for Maximim), and they cashed in 15M less than what we cashed in for AWB. Their high earners are still there. Let's not forget that our most exciting signing over the last two windows (Bats) came in because Chelsea couldn't sell him to Valencia because he was too fat. He came in on loan, of course. And he's gone, of course.

NU matchday receipts £26 million CP matchday receipts £11 million Our tv money goes mainly on wages I would imagine but happy to be proved wrong

That’s the thing about when we’re compared to other clubs, which Palace fans have little memory of their activity.
