He's got a point - I think - in a roundabout way - Whilst I don't have a problem with seeing attractive women in their underwear flogging s**t, there is proabably a reasonable argument to be made about over saturation of sexualised imagery in society that people are exposed to and that cannot be avoided. Although I am somewhat bias, in that I'd like to see advertising boards and the like removed entirely from public areas and spaces. Its forced exposure.

How is any form of street advertising not 'forced exposure'? What Khan is doing here is pushing social conservatism and I reject it. This is implicitly that sexually liberated women are less appropriate. That is not healthy.

It's nothing to do with that. Here's a link to the story at the time: [Link] This is about the tone of advert and the perceived 'body shaming' nature of it, linking in with eating disorders and pressure to confirm to social 'norms', Stop making out it's something it isn't.

I'd be happy to see all forms of street advertising scrapped. I don't feel that every possible surface has to have an advertisement for some product, simply to generate more profit by pushing various goods, services, agendas etc. It'd be nice to be able to keep public spaces free from someone trying to flog stuff to us. That way it kind of makes it more 'your choice' if your exposed to advertising media, not the advertisers and marketing managers.

Sure, street advertising can be annoying....I'm not sure there being none would be a very good idea however. Advertising of all types is annoying.... I'd need to be convinced of alternatives being better. Until technology solves the issue it's something I'll suffer. That's kind of not the point. If there is to be street advertising, which there is....then the denying of female sexuality and of a male's attraction to it is a form of social conservatism.

You cannot be serious. Advertising is designed to make things desirable. The day fat and ugly becomes desirable you will see it on posters everywhere. Don't hold your breath.

Also, the idea that restricting an individual's view of society as a form of treatment is not only ridiculous but it is harmful. It is lying to them about human nature. It is using the repression of others as a 'justifiable' tool. So if attractive slim women are to be banned in advertising then what about them walking down the street? Are they to be banned on TV? What about women wearing short skirts and tops? So how are people with eating disorders to be protected from that? All you are doing is restricting the liberties of others to fit in with a form of treatment that cannot work......Oh and in the mealtime supporting those who desire social conservatism: well done to you. Oh and by the way...if you find any of these women or men attractive...I don't know your preferences...then you yourself are apart of what you trying to restrict and dare I say it a hypocrite.
