Trying not to start another new thread...I'd just like to say that funding permitting, we should be busting our balls to move to Croydon Arena. Yeah Selhurst station would be more out of reach but Elmers End would be possible. So net about the same access wise. (Since not too far to NJ).

I am convinced that with some hardball negotiations with the council -- threats to leave the area etc -- we could swing that site. Without a big grab of the 'country park/nature reserve' OR a change of use we could easily have the footprint we need for whatever capacity the owners think appropriate. Something also tells me that -- generally -- the locals wouldn't be TOO nimbyish about it. Compared with, say, Selhurst.

All the roads around it are far too small and its only got one road access. The only public transport access is the tram, and its right next to the country park. Not a go-er on any level I'm afraid.

Feel like the picture I've attached is another reason why Selhurst won't get the much needed overhaul. Alot of residents will be out in force to stop their neighbourhood becoming a building site. Even if we do get the backing of the council. It's a tricky situation.

The club has been there a lot longer than they have and I have zero sympathy for people who move near a football ground an then moan because it wants to upgrade.

These days residents are going to need some very legitimate reasons for opposing any redevelopement of SP.
Just saying the noise, extra people on Saturdays, simply don't want it is just not enough any more.
CPFC are not stupid enough to push forward a plan than is going to get rejected outright on the basis of neighbours light being blocked out, deterioration in neighbouring property values, etc.
There is a reason we have waited so long for any form of announcement (and may wait yet longer still). It'll be about getting all ducks in a row, playing devils advocate, bringing up every conceivable reason to object and forming arguments, alternatives and solutions so they are almost certain it will get the go ahead before it goes to application.

Obviously the residents on the whole chose to live there, but they wouldn't have known the structure of the ground would get bigger.
Maybe offer compensation to the people in the properties most affected by any construction work.

Wasn't actually expecting anyone to take this seriously.

I'm hearing that a second tier on the Whitehorse and the corners being filled in, could get us up to the desired capacity without adding any height in an area that will effect anyone. And that this is one of the plans.

Looks like they have put the goals in the wrong place.
The pitch is wider than it is long.
