Quote Johnny Eagles at 07 May 2015 1.36pm

I spoke to my mum last night.

She has voted Labour in every election since 1974. Even in one of the safest Tory seats going (Brentwood and Ongar). And today she's voting Tory for the first time ever! She says she likes Cameron (!) and thinks Miliband is useless.

And - in the words of Jeremy Kyle, check this - she still adores Tony Blair!

Now, I'm not slagging off my mum or anything, but some parts of the electorate *cough* morons *cough* really do deserve everything they get.

Funny enough I had a convo with my own dear mother yesterday on the whole shebang last night.

Her giving me grief because I refuse to vote for any particular bunch of partisan, careerist liars and incompetents, and the duty she feels because of womens suffrage if she doesn't (no she isn't that old) even though she hasn't got a clue of which bunch of partisan, careerist liars and incompetents she favours.

Still torn on my vote. Do I think of the country as a whole and go with the Tories who in my opinion have done a pretty decent job in trying to clear up the mess Labour left?

Or do I vote for purely selfish reasons and go with someone else seeing as the Tories have totally ripped the heart out of the British Police Service and have now ripped up my contract meaning I have to work an extra 9 years on top, pay more into my pension, get less out, lose about 60k of my lump sum and wait an extra 9 years for my pension???

Tough one.

7 years ago everyone was blaming the money men, aggressive capitalism and bankers for "the mess" which was pretty much worldwide. Not sure how Labour can be held accountable for what initially started in the US.

We can blame Reaganomics and Thatcherism though. Deregulation.

Translation: we shouldn't be stupid and populist and blame something which is actually very complex but we pretend is simple.

Let's be stupid and populist and blame something which is actually very complex but we pretend is simple.

Democracy is a system where you select to do the right thing, whilst everyone else in the room votes to rape you.

I used to stay up watching all the way through, with a day off the next day, fuelled by booze and speed or shrooms/lsd. Bit old for that these days.

I'll just get up early tomorrow, and check I suspect.

Me too in the hope that I wake up to see David in no 10 and not Ed !!!!

You can pretty much guarantee that already.

He stays as PM until someone forms a government.

Optimistic as ever

I'll be staying up for 3 reasons...

1. Somebody broke into my summerhouse on Monday night and nicked my Cider/Wine and I'm ready with a baseball bat if the little fcuker returns.

2. I want to be one of the first to see Nick Clegg lose his seat.

3. Sophie Raworth is hosting the coverage.... Grllllll!

Going back to the point about FPTP (I've lost track of where it was in all the different threads) if you have an 'Independent' running who's in with a chance, you should vote for them.

They are going to hold the balance of power and are going to be able to secure some sweet concessions for their constituencies.

1. I hope you collar the little scroats mate.

2. I think you`ll be disappointed (huge vote share and majority last time) though nothing is impossible.

3. PHWOARR!
