If we are apparently talking seriously about Adrian Ramos who is quoted at £16m, and is 29, why dont we talk seriously to QPR, given that Austin is 25, and already proven in the PL?

My thoughts exactly - if there's any substance to the Ramos rumours then I don't see why we'd baulk at the asking price for Austin.

Unless they know Austin doesn't want to move to CP. Really hope these rumours are a ploy to spook QPR to the negotiating table. I'm not fussed about Austin I'd rather the money was spent on a top class CB but if 15M is gonna be spent on a striker i'd rather it was him than Ramos :/

Ive been watching the high lights in SA and considered the players Pardew have purchased, they all suit the quick pass and move approach....which is fantastic imo.
I maybe wrong but i think Austin would rather play for us than we would want him.

What we lacked most last season was someone to put the chances we created away, and unless Bamford hits the floor running, we are still in that situation. Austin is just the player we need....add him and a good CB and we have have one hell of a squad

I maybe wrong but i think Austin would rather play for us than we would want him. I'm pretty sure you are about that. Also by your logic there is no place for Glen in the side, which is obviously not the case as he was the main striker towards the tail end of last season.
