It has a very long lifespan and it isn't secured. And it's lots of fairly small loans that takes an awful lot of administration. So you're suggesting it may actually be feasible to provide free university educations without any change in taxation?

So, May has chucked a couple of sacrificial lambs to the wolves. Don't think it will help. The big beasts of her party probably are just making sure they have all their pieces in place before a leadership challenge. Could be a very very interesting NEXT election. Don't think Labour will be quite so happy to play ball and grant an early dissolution now she's on the ropes, they'd far rather a Tory government continue on a razor edge, dreading the first byelection.

Labour can't really say the country's turning to s*** but we won't agree to an election, it would make them look silly and weak. Also that they were putting party first and we've seen how well that goes down. Whatever happens we live in interesting times.
