Even if he does survive this it’s a seriously heavy blow to the government’s credibility. He’s made them all look like right tw*ts. Haha. It makes Labour and the media look like a bunch of utter desperate dickheads.

I was laughing my head off when I saw ITNs attempt to make a big story out of this. The Left is so desperate that I'm almost starting to feel sorry for them. Almost. Tabloid mentality from a bunch of agenda driven bellends. Why should anyone listen to what the government says now?

The government have taken poor advice and advanced poor policies on this situation....I've also done just what I've wanted to do. Leftist authoritarians and their fellow lip tremblers can continue upon their deluded fantasy of virus control if they want to.....none of it worked, regardless of full, partial or no lockdown.....Nature, in this particular case, wasn't to be denied. What they and their media think is for tomorrow's take away fish and chips.....except due to their bedwetting we can't buy any....and the frier is on the dole.

You are so out of touch. Had lovely fish and chips today. Takeaways never shut throughout lockdown. Rather brings into doubt your credibility on many of your other ‘opinions’. Your opinions on ‘grasses’ don’t match with your complaints that Muslim communities didn’t raise concerns about grooming gangs by the way. This is exactly the complaint made by Ann Cryer Initially in 2002. But of course you know that through your extensive understanding of grooming gangs and how, fortunately, Saint Tommy came to the rescue.

I had some great fish and chips earlier. Wisbech must be short of fish. Maple, where do you get yours?

Problem is the Tories have made a rod for their own back with this one, there are quotes on record from cabinet ministers expressing their outrage with Neil Ferguson and the Scottish Tories moaned nonstop about the Scottish CMO until she was gone. There is obviously a overtly political element to all this but so was Ferguson's resignation story on the part of the Tories, so save the clutching at your pearls from certain posters on here. The Guardian / Mirror knew what they were doing by releasing the first part of the story yesterday, waiting for HMG to inevitably trot out the excuses and back themselves into a corner, then drop the second story. This all took place over a month ago and you don't sit on a story for this length of time if you don't know it's watertight. Releasing it on a bank holiday weekend also draws it out as they can't make any major policy announcements etc to move on the narrative. Ultimately though, to most normal people who aren't political twonks like us who spend time on forums discussing this stuff, they won't know who Cummings is and will just see 'top adviser breaks lockdown' and feel a sense of one rule for us another for them. It reeks of metropolitan elite who think they can operate above all the plebs. I'm not willing to bet he will be forced to walk for this because he is instrumental to the current leadership but I suspect this will do damage to the PM. The ministers who were made to put out statements today won't be happy and there will certainly be Tory MPs sharpening their knives this evening. Contradicting policy statements on record is also not a good look for the party of rule and law.... Edited by SavoyTruffle (24 May 2020 12.05am)
