At least it's looking like Corbyn isn't going to be anywhere near power for a few years and next time the election happens, conservatives can up their game a bit! I normally vote Lib-dem but cannot stand their leader so didn't bother this time but it still baffles me how so many people can vote for Corbyn! But they do so fair play- i'm obviously missing something!

Let's hope the opposition to Corbyn will be a bit stouter next time.

The irony is the repayments are in favour of the lower paid and I think I'm right in saying working class student numbers have increased. The 50% - 60% may feel later in life that why should they find someone else's further education and higher earnings. Just putting it out there really. I agree with Jamie that education should be encouraged as much as possible, should be valued by society and not just measured on a profit basis. But you can remove media studies and other work delaying bollox.

She doesn't swing our way. She has some political weight now with Scottish seats in double figures where I doubt they've had more than 1. She showed she was to be respected in the big EU debate vs Amber Rudd, Boris Johnson and I think Gisela Stewart. You've got to admit, in her comfortable environment she could make your balls hide inside your torso. The Tories had a few seats in Scotland before Blair and the SNP virtually wiped them out. But 'tis true, she'd walk away with your bollocks in a bag.

I think it's quite unfair that people who decide against further education for whatever reason should foot the bill for those who are effectively going into it for self gain.

And up to a point will get whatever they want. If it comes to past that the UK has to enact some unacceptable compromises due to the DUP then I'll certainly chime in if that happened. Otherwise.... This situation is untenable anyway. I'm expecting another election in the winter. Edited by Stirlingsays (10 Jun 2017 3.44pm)

But you can remove media studies and other work delaying bollox. I went to university and graduated in 2009. I pay 10% of my salary above 20kish back to the student loan company. To me, this seems fair enough. I fi never earn above £20k, then I don't pay back a penny so don't get why people get so upset over student loans. Also, coming from a modest yet normal background (Mum was a teacher and Dad a fireman), I received zero maintenance grants (help towards food etc- accommodation is covered by the loan) at university. People who came from low income got loads of grants. This meant that to get the same money, I had to work part time at M and S and Ninian Park while they sat on their arses! So in summary, current situation is fine and actually favours low income family students over normal income ones!!

He he he. Nothing has changed comrade. The right of the party are still desperately putting various parts of their body in their mouths, or someone else's, to keep schtum about their true feelings. Will they hold the pretense together long enough for the next election I wonder. Popcorn at the ready.

Quite right I am all for people having to pay their own Primary School fees as well. I mean, the idea that a better educated society is capable of developing more rapidly economically, whoever heard such nonsense.
