According to the media and the left Cummings is some kind of unfeeling monster. Well he has probably just done the most human thing you can do. He was sick and so was his wife and they have a child to take care of so he went home to mum and dad. I don't know if he has broken the rules but how many of us would have done the same. This is just a storm in a teacup. Human, yet foolish and negligent too. And of course against rules they endlessly said that we must follow. It was well established at the time that children were not heavily impacted by covid-19. The fact that him and his wife were ill was therefore not an issue and they should've stayed put until they recovered. Asking his elderly parents to take care of his children was an unnecessary risk that could've endangered his parents lives. Potentially either him, his wife or their kids if it has turned out they were infected could've passed on the virus to them and we was lucky that didn't happen. Edited by BlueJay (23 May 2020 2.22pm)

It's all so pathetically transparent and confected. Both on here, and on the lunatic-left-infested Twittersphere. "Bald man bad" is the new "Orange man bad". I love that all the "right" people hate him. The level of hysteria drummed up by the socialist left against him. Dress him up as the next hitler all you like. He'll keep winning.

Well yeah that's half of the story but it's a two way street isn't it. Some on the right will defend what was his stupid and thoughtless behaviour come what may, just as some on the left will see this as an opportunity to try to remove him from his role. The overpoliticsed nature of here, there and everywhere bores me. I for one am not calling for him to be fired. I'm simply saying that he stupidly and unnecessarily endangered the lives of his parents. Which he did. If you and your partner have covid-19, it's distinctly unwise to drive to Mum and Dad's with the kids. Either look after them yourself or find family members or where that's not possible trusted family friends in not as risk groups to help out. This is not a time to be cavalier with other peoples health, especially where family is concerned. A level of post infection immunity would suggest that he can likely now spend all of the time he wants with his parents. It would've been a great shame if they'd have died due to his terrible decision, during the brief window of infection. Edited by BlueJay (23 May 2020 3.58pm)

I suppose we look to public figures to be setting an example but there has been a bit of a witch-hunt mentality with lockdown, and some folk seem to be hell-bent on "outing" anyone who in any way appears to be possibly flouting the guidelines of behaviour, often without knowing the story behind a person's actions.

Anyone else find the "next slide please", very annoying? Couldn"t they just put a hand up a touch or something for the nest slide man to just wind it on?

Sorry about that..... But you don't have to be a member of the "lunatic left" (which I am not)to see how hypocritical he and his chums has been here. And I'm not sure with how they are handling this crisis, I would call it winning.

He helped draw up the rules. He broke those rules. He should resign just like the Scottish chief medical officer and the Fergusson chap. What amazes me about Cummings is that he used to be a doorman. Who would take any notice of what he told you to do on the door at a nightclub? There is naff all of him and he looks like The Mekon.
