All well and good in theory, but it is never the same feeling towards a player once they decide they want to leave, if they don't want to be at Palace, they don't have that extra commitment. Very true, but in his case and how he performs now will determine how other clubs who want him or were just impressed by him being shown his mind isn't as fractured as he has in the past shown. What he does now will say a lot about him.

I’d suggest the fact he’s steered us through umpteen seasons of relegation battles indicates he does have that extra commitment. If I worked for Happy Shopper and Waitrose kept wanting me to work for them (with nicer conditions, more pay and a higher likelihood the company will be successful) but it never quite happened I wouldn’t be jubilant either. No matter how much I loved my Happy Shopper roots and all my Happy Shoppers customers.

Sorry BE, I really tend to agree with you more often than not but I don’t this time. What has he got to apologise for. He submitted a transfer request which he is well within his rights to do so, formally showing the club he wants to leave and losing his loyalty bonus in the process. The club didn’t let him leave and he remains a Palace player. As long as he works hard while he is here he has done absolutely nothing wrong by trying to leave in my opinion. Hey Coulsdon eagle, yes Wilf is entitled to put in a transfer request, but he had the whole window to do it,to do it a day before the window shuts in my opinion unsettled everyone at the club players, chairman etc That was good management by Roy to send him home,I bet he was advised by his agent to put in the request,if he had anything about him he wouldn't of put the request in. I wouldn't offer him a pay rise either,I'd offer him the exit door in January to anyone who meets our valuation,Wilf your not bigger than the club, you never have and never will be.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Let’s hope be buckles down and puts in performances that will make clubs inclined to pay what Parish wants. Of course on the other hand he may consider playing absolute dross in the hope that his value will drop and we’ll let him leave for half the price.

For sure handing in a transfer request with one day of the window left was a poor move from him, but let's not let that overshadow the loyalty he's shown to us over the past 2-3 years. Let's just focus on getting 3 points today, no matter who lines up for us.

A senior manager at the club who I know says he won’t be playing today. He is normally right with his info so I think you will see Ayew playing in Wilfs position. Happy to be proved wrong however.

I think in the circumstances, with feelings running high, it might be best if he doesn't play today. Besides we are going to have to start consistently winning games without him in the side sooner or later.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle If he's on it he should play, if not he should sit it out. We will get him know if he goes missing. My concern again is covering the RB spot. Before AWB we conceded too many goals down our RHS.
