Oh the whinging.....to top it all off he pulls the victim card.....I have little doubt this guy is permanently crying to moderators. He obviously doesn't like the arbitrary leftist nonsense on race being refuted. Oh and as for 'abuse' I'll ignore that coming from a guy who referred to me as a sub species. So disingenuous. Why do you keep doing this? Constantly attacking the man. If as you believe you have adequately refuted his arguments you have no need to do it.

Well I have mostly struck to the arguments and the individual has given out his fair share of insults. I'm not the one typing out insults themselves and then crying about it when they stop posting. Apart from the usual disingenuous nature of his arguments the overwhelming reason I don't like this guy has been explained to you in the past and indeed is again described on page 398 post timed 11:26. I am not alone in this matter. Edited by Stirlingsays (01 Jan 2020 11.48pm)

Thank you for showing that there is at least one other who can see what's been happening. He even denies it to you! I don't feel the least bit "victimised" by this. I think it's rather pathetic and actually quite sorry for him that he seems unaware he is doing it. The only reason I got dragged in was the need to respond to the attacks on my integrity. I have never done the same. Any criticism has been about the ideas and the groups who hold them. Not the individual. I believe the guy to be totally sincere in his beliefs. Wrong, but sincere. I also believe he has every right to hold and express them. So though do I.

Now we have entered a new year I'll be magnanimous and in the spirit of new beginnings I'll say this: While my attitudes towards particular stances hasn't altered at all it's time to move on.....at least in the sense that enmity and animus are a distraction. As some here will know I have spent a lot of time in the Philippines in the last 20 years. I owned a second home there for a while and still retain a smaller place for occasional visits. In July 19 I was there for a few weeks and during a meal with around 20 local people I asked them what they thought of Trump. No-one had an opinion! Believe it or not no-one had even heard of him. In rural locations the news is almost all national and local. International issues hardly ever get mentioned. People still think I am an "Americano" just because I have a white skin and that England is a US state. So don't take this "poll" too seriously. The upper classes in Manila may well hold Trump in high esteem, just as they hold Duterte too. The rural poor also think Duterte is great because he is getting tough (killing them) with drug dealers and corruption. It is not a country with any parallels to us. It's how Trump is seen in western democracies which ought to be considered.

Whether this ought to appear in the Trump or the BBC thread depends, I suppose, on your point of view:- I would nevertheless be interested to know whether anyone at all agrees with Trump, and why.

It’s just an industry award for politics; no different to the Oscars. How many losing nominees will think “Good. I didn’t deserve that”?

Trump winding up the activists so they bite. The activists with the highest nut content will always get the most media exposure. That gives his base an opposition to really dislike and ultimately motivates them to vote and campaign. Polarisation works quite well for Trump.

If I understood the report correctly these were off the cuff remarks to supporters that were overheard. If he was really seeking to "wind up" opponents he would have made them at a "rally" to ensure he got the maximum exposure. So it seems to me he really believes this. Which is why I asked if anyone agreed. Of course any "award" is going to be subjective but why does it matter so much to him that he seems to have blanked the actual recipient?

So these remarks aren't even official? What a waste of time.
