And as moderators wield power it cannot be said to be a level playing field, where mere mortals pay the ultimate price.

The ultimate price?

Have you been reading the Encyclopedia Dramatica?

Spliff & a cuppa tea for breakfast & this made me laugh! great morning already!

Well no one moderates the moderators, do they. Penge, I believe, says he speaks with only one voice. How can a 'moderator' say they apply the rules, when some moderators go round slagging people off.

Still I shall be moving along shortly.

Flouncy flounce flounce.

Nope just a statement of the inevitable, but thanks for your didactic intervention.

Due to my lack of intelligence or continuous reading of the dictionary I decided to investigate what your clever wording meant so I looked it up & found:

1. intended for instruction; instructive: didactic poetry.
2. inclined to teach or lecture others too much: a boring, didactic speaker.
3. teaching or intending to teach a moral lesson.

I choose to be #1 if that's ok? I don't really hold the high ground needed for #3 & I don't teach or lecture so that blows out #2 as well.

I'm taking it as a compliment & thank you for your kind words

Glad it's not me, i look things up too if i think people are trying to be clever with me. Nothing easier than trying to speak in simple terms, although trying to be clever sometimes ends up learnign something new.

Or alternatively, and I know there are some very intelligent people on this board so they can correct me, people use clever words, such as didactic, without knowing the meaning themselves & then look a bit foolish when their clever sentence is actually nonsense.

I think it's called a malapropism.

Apparantly it's a Dogberryism - it is the substitution of a word for a word with a similar sound, in which the resulting phrase makes no sense but often creates a comic effect. It is not the same as an eggcorn, which is a similar substitution in which the new phrase makes sense on some level. Occasionally, a phrase is substituted for the original, e.g. Stan Laurel said "What a terrible cat's after me!" (i.e., catastrophe) in Any Old Port!.

Thank you Wiki for clearing that one up for me.

Or you can use something called lateral thinking and work out that its about having a conversation where two or more parties inject views in an effort to reach mutually higher understanding of a subject. And then do some more lateral thinking about my original post

But then again you may not...

Whichever you choose please do not expect any further response from me because, I seriously cannot be asked. Truly...
