England need to find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

This is all going swimmingly. Todd Murphy looks like he should be in a 1940's newsreel.

377 ahead at the close, 1 wicket left. Left some runs out there with poor late batting imo, it's still a lot to get though. Stuart Broad retiring after this game.

Broad has seemed like the best bowler for much of this series. Hard to replace. A couple of great moments in his career with ball and even a couple with the bat.

It could still go either way in this test match. The likelihood is England will probably grind out a win, which would probably be a fair result. If only England has started the series with a bit more gusto and belief, we might have won the series.

Australia need 384 to win. They haven't actually won an away series here since 2001.

Strange stat that one. There must have been a few draws because it's still mostly seemed the Aussies have dominated the Ashes. However, England did start doing better the odd time. There was a barren spell that seemed like ages. I remember being at Edgbaston watching Waugh basically bat all day for two or three hundred.

The way things are going with Australia's 2nd inning, this time it will be England hoping for incessant rain for the rest of today and tomorrow.
