You are kidding right. When Iain Paisley got booted out for some rant, he went to see the Speaker and personally thanked him. This was a tactic from the same play book.

BTW, I am no supporter, but what do you see as his 2 faces?

The SNP have huge previous on redacting reports, misleading the Scottish Parliament, money going missing etc etc.

Blackford is a multimillionaire who portrays himself as crofter FFS.

Took him five years to disentangle his conflicts of interest when he entered politics and simultaneously calling out others for doing exactly what he was doing.

I was wrong saying he was two faced, more like five faced.

Does that answer your question?

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

"The government has written off £8.7bn it spent on protective equipment bought during the pandemic, accounts show.

The Department for Health and Social Care documents show items costing £673m were unusable, while £750m of equipment was not used before its expiry date.

The largest write-off - £4.7bn - was because the government paid more for it than it is currently worth, now that global supplies have recovered." (BBC website)

By-passing the normal procedures for tendering, i bet lots of cash ended up in Government friends pockets. I would love the police to investigate the giving of contracts too.

I disengage, I turn the page.

This seems to be a very widespread view. Everyone I chat to say much the same, as do the TV interviews, from people of all political persuasions.

So the MPs will now have to decide whether leaving him in place for longer will reflect so badly on them that dumping him now, and having a new leader in the limelight for longer during a probably difficult couple of years, is a lesser risk. Piling all the blame on him in 18 months and a fresh face to go into the GE would be the politically wise thing, but will the people accept it? They want to see decency restored. Time for the old order to step back in. Time for Hunt!

Theresa May's government was handicapped by the fact that is was a largely Remain, hung Parliament having to get Brexit done. Great viewing for the neutral, but it meant a decent, public servant with genuine integrity is now considered by history as a failed footnote.

Thus, to "get it done", Boris swept in in 2019 with a huge populist majority riding on his coat tails. Now the problem is we have a disingenuous, self-serving buffoon with that large majority who will still support him if a trephined babies on live TV.

This government would probably describe the normal tendering process as "red tape" at a time when urgency was the only consideration. In fact, that is exactly what they have said.

Now you see why that red tape is there. It is not a dirty word that just slows things down. It is a process designed to ensure best value for the public purse, accountability and a clear paper trail to avoid corruption.

Given the absence of such a clear paper trail and the connections of those who profited to those in power, nobody will have their collars felt for this.

We seem to be focused on on 8 or 9 billion (which is a lot of money) but where did the other £370+ billion go?

Ministers undoubtedly have to shoulder some of the blame but let us not forget the utterly useless Civil Service who buy this stuff and much more besides.
After all - it isn't Matt Hancock phoning a supplier in the North and getting a price.
Our Civil Service is just the like the politicians above them - not fit for purpose!

It is my understanding that at least 2 Government ministers at the height of the pandemic were using their personal emails for official business which, has to my knowledge either not been investigated or investigated and whitewashed.

Interesting, can I ask how you are privy to such information which presumably you have solid evidence of. I am sure you do otherwise your post would be self serving rubbish.

I am no fan of waste or corruption or unsubstantiated claims.
