And they could have had songs from the James McArthur Song-book and Glad All Over. A cultural opportunity badly missed. Hence you will be just as glad as we are to see it change to a subscription service instead of a publicly funded one.

And they could have had songs from the James McArthur Song-book and Glad All Over. The first Proms concert was a new piece by a young black British female composer which was about identity. I think you can that was a cultural opportunity seized. If her music is any good and the public take to it who knows in years to come it will be the key music at the last night. That's why these songs are still around they are popular. Don't like it write new songs and hope the public like them.

To be honest I would have settled for one Soprano rather then a choir but happy to accept it. Let's hope this is the start of the BBC listening to its paying customers rather than trying to force feed us their opinions.

Of course you want the BBC to continue. It mostly represents what you believe in. We'll have a Fox type media channel and we'll pay for that. The BBC had its chance to be even when one of its executives twenty years ago pushed for 50/50 on the political bias of its employees but instead it decided it wanted to be the Guardian TV channel.
