I thought he wasn’t too bad today, their keeper made one or two good saves off him. What got me was in the first half he was through on goal and Andros got in his way and took the ball off him... Andros Townsend was woeful today, he really was...

We've seen lots of videos of Soerloth knocking in crosses but this kind of play might not be his bag, at least not yet. All of them need to improve their finishing, not just Tekers. Wilf was just as culpable today. That one where he cut in, had two runners and then didn't hit the target was inexcusable.
Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time. |

He should have run out wide taking a defender with him to give Benteke some space.Very poor.

Yes indeed , Cabaye needs to taken aside and taught how to shoot below row Z.

I was going to put the limited options at the end but thought it was obvious, but he could have started the new guy today if he thought benny was that bad, maybe he thinks benteke adds to other parts of the game, winning headers for a start, bringing others into play like the great lay off in the 85 minute that i already mentioned! Its easy to pick on a player who isnt having much luck, but without him we would have lost at west ham and lost today, having caused enough panic today to get his shirt pulled back and the only goal at west ham for us! Thats 2 points down to benteke, if westay up by 2 i trust the knockers will thank him!,,,,but he lost us 2 with the penalty miss i hear you ask? That was desperation for which he apologised to the team for and weve moved on, so last 2 games, 2 points due to benteke! Well said

Well said I really do think some people blame him for costing so much. That's not his fault. The accusations of lack of effort are absurd. The guy probably weighs 14 1/2 stone at least (not fat) and when you have that height/weight/frame, it's going to be quite unusual if you have the ability to chase down every lost cause. His physique isn't something to blame him for. He doesn't chase down every kick to the keeper (he does sometimes, if he can see a press is possible) and he's 100% right not to. Where he can be criticized, however, is making decisive, explosive runs/movement in the box. He's got to just do that more and see what happens. As a striker, he needs to be more proactive than he is in the box. That's where the goals come from.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

The cost of him for a striker, the least I expect of him is to have an influence to earn a few points. Yep, and as you say, 2 points lost from the penalty fiasco. Good going. He's on break even for a £30 mil and £120k a week or whatever it is striker.

(He usually does one after Zaha or Townsend chase one down they're further away from) And they're not all lost causes. I noticed Mensah didn't chase a ball rolling towards the touch line until he realised it was staying in. This is prem football, being paid millions, not the Tandridge C league.
