He did reasonably well with Swansea who have fallen away since he left and has done well at Leeds. And I am not expecting Pep to rock up at Selhurst Park. Its just a question of the other managers who are available. I'm not overly impressed with the Silva. Correct me if I am wrong but I cant remember a foreign manager at Selhurst. So i really think he suits our profile. By the look of things Parish can see that too. I am not saying that Mancini would not be a step up, if he is your preferred I can see that, but alongside the others he (Monk) stacks up well.

Not so convinced by Monk but as soon as I saw he resigned I put 2 and 2 together. Exactly the type of guy Parish would go for, simply on the basis he's british.

Maybe this is how Palace progress. Bring in Monk, sack him after 4 months, new man comes in, signs 2/3 players and we survive. At least it's not boring. Think we've run out of lifelines now as if we do hire Monk that would clearly show Parish is unwilling to go for non British managers. If that's the case what British relegation savers are left for us to choose from.

He's managed at 2 teams bigger than Bournemouth in both the championship and premier league and on neither occasion did what Eddie Howe is doing at Bournemouth.
