Don't mind a panic buy as long as they have resale value. Van aarnholt does so if we go down we can just resell and get about same cash.

Something isn't right with this transfer , looking back through today West Ham get bid for payet from Marseille accepted around 13:00 by mid afternoon he's jetting off to France and now 19:30-20:00 medical passed , are they honestly telling us there are important papers still to sign 2-3 days after his medical ?

What makes you think he hasn't signed for us already? Didn't SA say it was done with just a final piece of paperwork needed? If so, and that paperwork is his registration then it is probably a simple case of the FA not being open to process it. Folk seem to think all the media publish is true but it rarely turns out so. Ok, Sunderland may have agreed to sell days ago but that doesn't mean terms were agreed. Then it needs the personal terms sorting along with the medical which, in itself, would have been more in depth than normal in view of the known heart issue. I would also imagine the player's contract is fairly involved in light of our potential relegation. Payet's agent has probably had his deal sewn up for weeks & they've just been waiting for wet spam to compromise on the asking price.
Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five! |

I don't think the Payet deal is a good comparison anyway, Payet knows all about Marseille and was so desperate to go back that apparently he took a £25k per week pay cut. Even now, the Payet deal does not seem to have been completely done and dusted, all that has happened is that he has passed a medical. There is nothing to suggest that the PVA deal has fallen apart.

With Schlupp out, we're in dire need of this happening today so he can play tomorrow. Him and Zaha plus Townsend now seemingly caring could be good...
