Always used to be a disabled section in Holmesdale Blue cars around the pitch What happened ? Premier greed ? lack of space ? A high quality design team is needed !!!

How typically Palace for us to find out about the ground redevelopment before the club got round to telling us.

Interesting, but there does not appear to have been a formal planning application submitted to Croydon Council as yet, let alone having one approved, plus "redevelopment" is a broad term. I await the details with interest.

maybe it has something to do with the disabled fan situation and having to find ways of getting more in. you can see the pitch out the back in the smoking area if I remember correctly?

Yeah, that's a possibility for sure.

As I understand it,the extra space for disabled fans is going to be along the length of the Arthur

Disabled fans are getting a new area possibly across the back of the Arthur. They also require toilets, lounge/bar area as well as additional staff and facilities.
Crystals may have to converted to accommodate this requirement under the disability act.

Trying not to start another new thread...I'd just like to say that funding permitting, we should be busting our balls to move to Croydon Arena. Yeah Selhurst station would be more out of reach but Elmers End would be possible. So net about the same access wise. (Since not too far to NJ).

I am convinced that with some hardball negotiations with the council -- threats to leave the area etc -- we could swing that site. Without a big grab of the 'country park/nature reserve' OR a change of use we could easily have the footprint we need for whatever capacity the owners think appropriate. Something also tells me that -- generally -- the locals wouldn't be TOO nimbyish about it. Compared with, say, Selhurst.

Any redevelopment is subject to us remaining in the premier league. If we go down there will be no money to spend on it. But of course for those who enjoy watching lower league football in rusting crumbling old ground relegation is still something to be embraced.

what i dont get is, all these fancy floodlights which got put up, why not kill 3 birds with one stone and fix the leaks while they were up there doing it?

it was probably the fat arse builders putting up the lights that caused most of the leaks. Looking at the state/age of the Arthur, i'd be more worried about asbestosis than getting wet sitting over there

People talk this subject round in circles and seem to forget what has gone before.

We are staying at Selhurst and the plans are ready to go.
Parish has just said that he is hoping for a more positive attitude from Croydon Council and Sainsbury's and meetings are scheduled. The relevant people simply need to get moving.
