Still torn on my vote. Do I think of the country as a whole and go with the Tories who in my opinion have done a pretty decent job in trying to clear up the mess Labour left?

Or do I vote for purely selfish reasons and go with someone else seeing as the Tories have totally ripped the heart out of the British Police Service and have now ripped up my contract meaning I have to work an extra 9 years on top, pay more into my pension, get less out, lose about 60k of my lump sum and wait an extra 9 years for my pension???

Tough one.

The way they've screwed you lot over your pensions, I'm surprised any of you are even considering voting for them!!

To be honest mate I don't think I can bring myself to vote for them. I would say only about 5% of British old Bill will vote for them and that will only be the guys with less than 10 years service who the pension reforms don't affect.

Funny how times change. Not that long ago every copper voted Tory as they were the party who looked after them the best (Thatcher in particular) Ironic that it's them who have totally ripped the heart out of policing.... G4S will be patrolling streets near you soon instead of coppers... Watch this space!!

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

Mine was recyclable (and according to a neighbor, excellent roach material).

7 years ago everyone was blaming the money men, aggressive capitalism and bankers for "the mess" which was pretty much worldwide. Not sure how Labour can be held accountable for what initially started in the US.

We can blame Reaganomics and Thatcherism though. Deregulation.

Translation: we shouldn't be stupid and populist and blame something which is actually very complex but we pretend is simple.

Let's be stupid and populist and blame something which is actually very complex but we pretend is simple.

I think Kemiband forgot to add that you should vote Labour to protect us from weapons of mass destruction and the like.

Took me a few days but.....welcome back! You've toned right down. That's what snookered me a bit. No mention of Islam or blacks.

I recycled mine in the lavatory. The gloss finish was a bit much though.

The reason I want PR is that, under the current regime, most people's votes count for diddly (the majority in my constituency last time was around 15,000 - nobody I vote for will make the slightest difference) - under AV that would be exactly the same, except that when my 'real' vote is discarded, it would be replaced by my 'tactical' vote - you're still not voting for what you want, you're voting against who you don't want

....................................................

I'm beginning to think that way too.

I do like the direct link between an MP and the local area as opposed to people getting elected off a general party list.

I live in a constituency where one party (and one I'm vehemently opposed to at that) always wins by a large majority,so my vote feels like a waste of time every election for that reason. If there was a single transferable vote system,it would get very interesting in terms of at least making the constituency election competitive and the outcome more reflective of the overall spectrum of opinion within the constituency.

I spoke to my mum last night.

She has voted Labour in every election since 1974. Even in one of the safest Tory seats going (Brentwood and Ongar). And today she's voting Tory for the first time ever! She says she likes Cameron (!) and thinks Miliband is useless.

And - in the words of Jeremy Kyle, check this - she still adores Tony Blair!

Now, I'm not slagging off my mum or anything, but some parts of the electorate *cough* morons *cough* really do deserve everything they get.
