I honestly wouldn't want Caulker, his performances for a whole season were woeful.

Just when I thought that I was out...........they pull me back in

I think it was just with Blackburn.

No Was with Blackburn and Birmingham , though to be fair to Scott birmighams team was based on a solid defense and him missing a large part of the season injured was one of the main reasons they went down.

Thanks for the correction.

I've seen absolutely nothing from him that indicates to me he is worth chucking around £8m at. He's clearly not got the balls for a fight and his attitude is suspect at best.
Plus I think he knows he will never be particularly popular here after blowing us out before
Virgil Van Dijk for me

I wouldn't chuck £8 mill at him..maybe some shrapnel. Overpaid, over rated, let him be part of the QPR haha double relegation and Fair Play **** up!

Caulker is a strange one. Looked a very good player two years ago but it's gone downhill for him; first slowly, then rapidly since. To be fair to him, he's had a string of awful, tactically clueless managers over the past twenty four months; has never had the benefit of playing in either good teams or teams with consistency of tactics and selection so he hasn't had much chance to improve, let alone shine. That said, what he hasn't done is really show much character in adversity. You have to think someone like Jedi, in the same grim circumstances, would have stepped up and led from the front.

The advantage to us and other clubs is that whether QPR like it or not, the past two years have significantly reduced Caulker's value which means, if Pardew thinks he can get a song out of him, he may be available for a reasonable price (after the posturing is done.) And a still young, England-capped, centre half at a reasonable fee is likely a very tempting proposition. A bit like Dann, if you can turn him around and put him in a good line-up, Caulker has the potential to double his value very quickly indeed and become an extremely useful player.

To be honest, my instinct is to side with many of the negative comments here. But that's a knee-jerk reaction. I can't help thinking that at the right price, this might be a very shrewd bit of business.

I just wish the Mods would close this thread just in case Steve or any of 2010 are reading and are tempted to renew their interest in him.

Let's no forget this is the bloke that blew us out twice. I just hope he stays and rots at QPR ah ah.

I'll never understand why some people dwell on pointless history rather than thinking about what may be best for the club now.

It's not just that Syd, it's also the fact that he was shown to be a very poor player in an even poorer team.

I saw a few QPR games last year and he really was average at best.
