Crystal Palace star Sean Scannell has urged George Burley to press ahead with a shock move for Edgar Davids. The former Juventus star has been without a club since leaving Ajax in 2008 and is expected to sign a short-term deal with the Eagles after holding talks with manager Burley. Most Palace players had a day off on Wednesday but winger Scannell said: "He's a legend. He's a free agent so it would be a great singing and I'd love to play with him. "At 37 he's experienced a lot and will bring that to the team." The tough-tackling midfielder, nicknamed ‘the pitbull’, spent a season and a half with Tottenham, and has also played for Inter Milan, Juventus and Barcelona. "He's played for a lot of great teams and can bring a lot to the squad. I can't wait to line up with him." It was my dream to play for Palace and to make my debut.
