The straight fact of the matter is that it is unsafe to go there. Why should going to a football match give cause for concern over one's personal safety, for God's sake? I'm not going for the simple reason that the Den (Old or New) harbours a better than average chance of being attacked by a crowd of knuckle-scraping cave dwellers. Simply by wearing your own team's colours, you run the risk of personal injury. That is absolutely intolerable nowadays. As someone else has said on this thread, the security at the ground for visiting supporters is negligible and it doesn't strike me as a fun way to spend Easter Monday watching a game and having to look over my shoulder the whole time for fear of attracting the attention of some semi-evolved pondlife objecting to my allegiance to this club.

This subject has cropped up again and again here on this board and, whilst I think it's sad that such obstacles are put in the way of peacefully supporting the club, I (and it would appear many others) won't go to Millwall as long as the risk of violence continues.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Fair points cucking, I think poeple are sick and tired of it all now and would just rather stay at home.

One point though, do you agree that all away matches carries a risk of violence, not just Millwall?

I think Keith Murray said it best when he rapped
"If you aint fly you cant play with my yo-yo".

I'm sure you'll agree.

Certainly they do. Every club has its dickhead element. But it's become a kind of tradition at Millwall, wouldn't you say? EVERYONE has a story to tell about them.

So you think that the risk of attack and/or injury is worth it do you? I don't. This is a game of football, for Christ's sake!!! If you think I'm going to expose myself to that kind of risk just for that, well.....

I am not being funny, but I am sure there are many people who would love to go to see Palace play, but not everyone can afford to pay out that sort of money or they don't feel safe going to the New Den (why should fans be restricted wearing the Red n' Blue because of mindless thugs at Millwall. You have to understand that, also not everyone wants to go to an away game where there is nothing to play for. It is not because they would not want to go, but mainly cause there is no point.

Red n' Blue through and through..........

i know tis only a game of football... but to be honest... every single game of footy u go to is a safety risk... crowd IS associated wiv a safety risk itself isnt it?.. i know the worry for ur safety at derby games is much higher... but still, isnt it the whole point of derbies?(did i spell that right?)... but yeah, the whole point is... the athmosphere... the passion... the adrenaline...

i have found that it is true for most derby games that if u dont go looking for trouble - tis easy to avoid it...

i know that going to New Den is different from going to any other away game but as i have already said - it wouldnt be the derby that it is otherwise, would it?!

Really dont see why were arguing bout going to this game.
It seems like these days, we argue about EVERYTHING and ANYTHING!i want to go to the Millwall game because i wont get the opportunity to go to many games next year cos ill b at uni.
Also, i would like to go to a game with a bit of atmosphere.True, this is a nothing game, but i still want to go.And i want to have a good day out, WITHOUT any trouble, hence me not wearing my palace shirt on the journey there.

Hopefully though...some of us will actually want us to win this game

All Football fans are scum and should be treated as such
