1) Gareth Southgate v Pompey (the 5-1 mauling), I was in the Authur Waite, he got the ball, looked up at me, smiled and winked ... dribbled it 30 yards, smacked it in from 30 yards ... the ground was silent as it went in ... you could hear the back of the net go bang then the ground erupted!
They say hard work never hurt anyone ... but why take a chance? |

As Dougie said in his recent interview in the program, "Too many to mention" However just to pull up the comment about Marco Goalo, his goal at Anfield 91-92 I think, was good and all the sweeter for helping us win 2-1 Another odd one was Gray's free kick at Grimsby last season. We don't seem to score many direct from set pieces so it was great to be behind the goal and watch that one go in.

Lets see John yogi hughes against sheff utd 2 in fact good quality goals John mcormack same game (I know Ispelt his name wrong) Alan Whittle debut against manure A host of goals by Don Rogers pick of the bunch probably against Everton John Shovel foot Sewell against Leeds due basically to Sprake error Salako Against Forest Wright in the cup final Pitcher against wolves Any from a bunch from Peter the taylor Any we goal we ever score gives me great pleasure I wonder what peoples favorite game has been that we lost you know the atmosphere the effort the weekend away. Mine has to be Newcastle away we lost 3-2 we went down the geordies were great I spent the weekend with Jolly getting rat faced

No-one has mentioned Wrights goal against Brighton (I forget the year), in front of the Sainsburys end from an impossible angle on the left edge of the penalty box volleyed into the opposite corner of the net. He still rates it as his best goal! Edited by tokyopaul (05 Apr 2003 6:12am)
