Can i just second that ... I do not believe a perfectly good thread about racisme (yes/no) with some really valid points (which took a lot of people a long time to write) has just been deleted like none of it mattered.

For once a good thread starts (not just "we were s*** this Saturday" or "what are you listening to now" ) and it is deleted without any explanation.

I'm very disappointed as I (like other people) have opened my heart and mind to produce honest reactions and valid points.

I know this isn't a political website but does this mean we all have to pretend we've got nothing more to say about life apart from palace, women and music ?

VERY disappointed indeed, makes me wonder what I'm still doing on here ..

Since the post you've referred to (I wonder how long that'll last) two more perfectly valid posts have been deleted which did not disparage ANY users, without explanation. In fact the username Retardaliator has been cancelled completely -- I wonder if this is unprecedented on HOL, it certainly seems like one hell of an overreaction. I tried to explain myself to one of the mods this morning after they finally deigned to explain themselves as to why the thread was deleted... and that's what I got. No reply, just the bullet. I used to be a moderator on here myself, but in my day we treated users with at least a modicum of respect before kicking them out.

It's strange, too, that one person could make a serious anti Semitic remark on the now-deleted thread and not be challenged (with one honourable exception) and yet I am barred for daring to speak out about racism in society.

Poor old Pete eh, he must be very precious to need to back off the board and ask for me to be deleted.

The hypocrisy on here is disgusting.

Slug, this has nothing to do with Pete i'm sure .. he's not the one who deleted you and the thread. He's got just as many people for and against him than you have !!

In fact, your message to him a couple of posts ago was an olive branch and I'm sure Pete would take that (as you know he decided to not post on here anymore till after new year .. so it can't be him).

HOL moderators : if this is the direction you've taken then please ban me too .. freedom of speech (OF ALL PARTIES) is very important and i can't believe you've just done all this !

The Retardaliator name was banned by someone else's request. It was done this morning and while I was discussing the reasons why to the other moderators and answering calls at work at the same time I didn't get the chance to email you to let you know what's happening. Apologies for that but I'm only human and have a day job. But I will do so now.

The issue is the offensive username and personal digs in that thread. We don't want to stir up any more hatred between users. I'm glad you've started to use your original username and as a former moderator yourself, wish you'd understand the need to try to do the right thing. I haven't got time this morning to argue the finer points of it all but that's the decision. By all means carry on existing topics on the same subject.

To say "Seems the true face of HOL has been exposed here doesn't it people" is quite childish and out of order.

By all means debate topics, but can we leave personal insults away from this board. Email each other, do it face to face just sort it out away from here, I don't give a f***. And Saxon, you're not helping matters either.

Penge, I appreciate you coming on and trying to explain but I find your response somewhat disingenuous at best.

You address my last post by calling it "childish", but haven't deleted it. You've deleted other valid comments without explanation, and even b0ll0cked Saxon for expressing his opinion that the posts weren't offensive. You need to be consistent here, and you most certainly aren't.

You haven't addressed most of the points I raised, just the ones that suit you. Why, for example, was the username deleted as offensive when there are so many so much worse allowed to continue? Pete's own remarks about me when we discussed the war were deeply personally offensive but I didn't cry to the Mods about it, and nor did he when I responded in kind. Stef also disagrees with my points on the deleted thread, but he still agrees with my rights to say them.

Passing on the blame to "anonymous" for requesting the deletion of the username is pretty weak but I'll let it go. Woodsy's post about this forum for being football related talk only is frankly laughable. Take a look around mate.

What I want to know is why other people's posts on hot political issues, or even just being personally offensive, don't receive the same treatment. A quick look at today's posts would show that.

Come on let's have the real reasons why I've been silenced please.
