You are right Penge, Which why my rant is against the authorities and not other religions. They don't care if we celebrate Christmas, they expect it. Its the do goodders (usaully christian) that interfere and decide that something is offensive when it isn't.

As a Christian myself, I think it's ridiculous to stop people celebrating relgious festivals, be they Christian, Muslim or any other religion.
In my personal experience, people dedicated to their faith tend to be on on the whole tolerant to those of other faiths.
It's those of no faith, or those (particularly Christians) of nominal faith (ie. no personal belief) who get all pensive about not wanting to insult someone.
Personally, I'd probably find it more insulting for someone of another faith to be stopped from celebrating their festival, as it would suggest I wasn't secure enough in my own faith (if that makes sense.....)

Just out of interest, and without being PC, can anybody define what qualifies somebody as being English...as in Angry "English" Christian?....or even define what qualifies somebody as being "British"?..

so, that does not define your "ethnicity" then...is "English" an ethnic category? Ethnic: "people of the same race or nationality who share a distinctive culture"
