I`m glad I`m not alone with this one. After the utter gut-wrenching dissapointment of the previous year(grrrr!!!)I couldn`t face it.

I watched it in a pub and what can I say...

Has to be the FA Cup semi final against the scousers and subsequent FA Cup final, Hopkin play off final and the Burnley game in 1979 - to be fair I was only eight and had a penchant for Man U because my favourite player Coppell played for them.

Used to go regularly up to 1988 and then got into popping smarties and treading grapes to hynoptic beats all night - football took a bit of a back foot I'm afraid. Not a bad subsitutue all the same...

Watched the games on the tele and still loved them though...

Due to the obvious distance to travel I haven't made it to many games, I have only been to 2 in fact. The most recent time was 1997 vs Port Vale at home (Last game before playoffs) before I went backpacking through Europe.

To be in the Austrian Tyrol in summer while the playoff final was on was excruiating. Particularly being (in relative terms) close by.

I haven't forgiven myself for not chucking the money around to get back to the UK for it..

Probably the 2nd leg of the play-off semi last season. I was that close to booking myself on the flight up there, but the thought of how much a divorce would cost put me off at the last minute

More annoyingly (as at least with the above I could watch it on the telly and drink copious amounts of lager), I missed both those 6-1 victories in September 1996 (Reading Away & Southend Home) - one because someone got married in during the football season, and the second because I was at a Black Tie dinner in (of all places) br*ghton. And if memory serves me correctly, weren't there 6 different scorers in both those games??

The FA Cup Final. We couldn't get tickets but managed to get them for the horrible replay

It was my dream to play for Palace and to make my debut. I've always played for the club so if I'm playing here, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

For me it would have been the Sunderland play-off second leg game. I was desperate to go, but had exams that day so despite my pleading 'it's only maths' wasn't able to go.

Bloody maths

I had just had my membership taken away for punching some Clownton Pathetic fan who had come to the Arthur looking for trouble!I think it was just before the Smei at Villa park that happpened! cant remember for sure?
Have to say though I would have probably done anything to get my hands on a ticket as it turned out I managed to forge a membership card and stayed out in all night for my ticket and was third or fourth in line for the precious tickets.

Playoff final 2004, without a doubt. It didn't help that the duration of the match was spent in an exam hall, and that the build up all morning took over from last minute cramming.
