The more players we sell, the quicker my hopes evaporate!

This is an excellent read and explains why we could have a great season.

My first hope is that the tail end of last season was not our moment in the sun, and whilst I don't expect us to win 6 of our next 7 games, I would expect us to be competitive from the word go.

Of course there are a number of ifs and buts when it comes to looking at the coming season, these mainly relating to the squad we end up with when the transfer window closes.

However, with Glasner in charge I have a lot more confidence than I did under Roy that we might have a season that doesn't entail any relegation fears.

I hope for, but don't necessarily expect, a top ten finish, to beat Brighton home and away, to take the scalps of one or two of the big boys, and a decent cup run.

Unlike some, I am not particularly concerned about Europe at this stage.

Top 10. Guehi is apparently going to Newcastle. If Eze goes as well Palace still do have players.

I reckon Riad will have a decent season at CB. You have Ayew, Kamada and Sarr. Franca still to come back from injury. Rumours of Schlupp leaving I would keep him as he can also play at LWB and if Mitchell gets injured who would play there.

Contract situations need to be improved. Mitchell can go on a free next summer. Mateta is free in 2026. Both players need to be tied down to new contracts.

Hopefully Glasner continues like last season. Palace have a lot more options now (GK, DM, Attack, ST) which is good and even if big players leave they can play them. But it does get to a point when you keep selling players that it becomes an issue. But at the moment assuming Guehi and Eze both leave top 10 is still possible for Palace and a good cup run)

Eze to stay.
Top 4.
Mateta to be league's top scorer.
All totally achievable.

No worries about relegation all season and another TOP-10 finish would be great. Think OG will take the Cups very seriously, as he has always done as player and manager. As a player, he won the Cup with underdog SV Ried about 25 years ago in a sensational final against Sturm Graz, who were by far Austria's biggest football power at that time. So he should know from his own experience that the Cups offer plenty of potential for the "not so big boys" to shine and surprise.

I don't see any reason why we can't manage a top 4 or 5 finish. Once we've added the final pieces of the jigsaw, strength in depth will be better quality and greater than the title winning Leicester team. Can OG transform Edouard? Wouldn't that be great - otherwise I expect a JPM clone.

As a supporter for 60yrs - if we can keep OG at least 3yrs- I feel at last we could be heading for something special. More important, as said by others, isn't wonderful football to watch! (Nursey says I need to lie down for a bit now).

The Opta is interesting - it puts us above the Weed. A challenge will br to get a reasonable start to the season whilst players continue to bed in and get use to playing together in competitive Premier league games. I trust in the Glasnor process, so we'll do fine.
My expectation is that a fully fit Franca will begin to have as much impact as Wharton has had for us as he develops. We mustn't forget he is young and it may take time and care as was shown with a young Phil Foden. I'm just as impatient as anyone to see him play creatively.

Not any reason. Really?
